*Lovino's POV*
After lunch we went back inside and went our separate ways. I continued to my fifth period, and it quickly dawned on me the grave mistake I had made. The only problem was I noticed too late, and everyone else noticed before I did.
"Why are you wearing that?" I heard as someone walked up to my desk. I looked up to find a kid in my grade named Cole staring at me. I thought about what he was asking and that is unfortunately when it hit me. Cole was on the team with Antonio. "Did you like find it on the ground or something and decide to put it on?" I can really never catch a break can I?
"No." Is all I say, I didn't know what I could say that would help me in this situation
"Yeah right, I know you hang around Antonio sometimes but I know you guys aren't that close. Plus Antonio isn't a fag so no way he gave it to you." He said and I stayed quiet "Just give it to me, I'll give it to him. Don't want your gay to rub off on it." he held out his hand for me to give it to him, but I didn't
"That isn't how it works dip shit. It isn't contagious, nor a disease." I say and he scoffs
"C'mon dude just give it to me. I know people talk all the time about how desperate gay guys are but you can't be this desperate. You think he's gonna see you in his jacket and fall in love with you or something?" he asks, little did he know that is probably exactly how it would go down.
"You know, this is really none of your business." I say and he looks surprised that I would say such a thing, before he can say anything back the bell rings which means class is starting so eh has to sit down.
Even though Cole was the only one to speak up to me about it I know others noticed. If they didn't they certainly noticed Cole talking to me and what he was saying, making them notice me wearing it. As much as I wanted to take it off, I couldn't now, it was too late. I tried to pay attention but he kept looking at me, whispering to his friends around me and then all of them would look at me. I didn't know what they were saying, but it was safe to assume it was nothing good. Something so stupid, so small was about to mess eveything up.
After class I tried to act as normal as possible, but as soon as I was out of the classroom I was grabbed and taken to the nearest bathroom. I was surrounded by guys, Cole's friends and him. Some of them were from my last class but others were kids he must've texted to come to the classroom.
"Wanna give it to me now?" Cole asked and I didn't say a word, I wasn't going to give him the satisfactory. He wouldn't be able to feel like he had any power over me. "If you won't give it to me then I guess we'll have to take it." Instead of doing what he implied and trying to take it, he just started to hit me. It didn't take long until I was on the ground in the middle of guys kicking and hitting me. I never made a sound though. I'm not sure how long it is, the blows just keep coming until I hear the door open.
"That's enough~! Get off of him~!" I hear Femke's voice, and they do. They stop, but the effects are still there. "You ought to be ashamed of yourselves~ picking on someone for no reason~" she says and its silent for a moment "Why are you still standing here~? Get out~!" she says and I hear the shuffle of their feet. She rushes over to me "Are you okay~?" she asks
"I'm fine." I say and start sitting up, she gently helps me stand
"I watched them take you into here~ I'm sorry I wasn't faster~" she said and I smiled at her, while holding my side
"It's fine, I'm really okay." I said
"You don't look so okay~" she says and I look at myself in the mirror, honestly not as bad as I thought it would be while receiving the blows. My lip is bleeding, my hair is a mess, and my nose is a little red. Most of the punches and kicks were to my torso though so a lot fo the damage couldn't be seen right now, but I definitely felt it.
