Eddie's POV
Tonight's the night I finally get Emily to myself. It's been a week since I last saw her, when she concussed herself. She told her mom that she'd be at Max's house when in reality she'll be at mine, alone with me.
The only problem is that Wayne and I live like pigs, this trailer is filthy. Clothes and empty food bags everywhere. I'm trying my best to clean up but I'm not getting very far. It's staring to stress me out.
Wayne comes out from his room, "What're you doing?"
"Cleaning."
"I can see that but why?" He asks.
"She's coming over tonight and this place is wrecked."
"Emily?" He asks.
"Who else would it be?" I question slightly irritated.
"I don't know, I never know with you. Always some one new."
"It's different this time." I explain, picking a T-shirt off the floor and throwing it into the hamper.
"Is she the one who's been taking all your attention? Keep catching you smile at your phone."
"Yes." I sigh frustrated cause she gets here in an hour and I haven't even made a dent in the cleaning.
"When does she get here?"
"In a hour."
"Well shit that don't leave you much time to get ready." He points to the sweats and lack of shirt I'm wearing.
"I know, I'm screwed."
Wayne approaches me and puts his hands on my shoulders, "You go take a shower, get ready. I will clean."
"Really?" I ask surprised.
"This seems important I want to help."
"Thank you I appreciate it." I say running off into the bathroom leaving Wayne in the living room to clean.
I hop in the shower, quickly wash my hair and my body. Once I'm done I brush my teeth, throw some deodorant on. Quickly get dressed in a band tee, flannel and jeans figuring that this is as good as it gets.
I leave the bathroom and find Wayne hard at work cleaning the kitchen. My room is just as dirty. I throw all my clothes in the closet and slam it shut. Half ass make my bed and tidy up anything else out of place. I look at the job I did and shrug, good enough.
Twenty minutes till Emily arrives. Wayne has moved onto the kitchen, cleaning off the dining table. I work on clearing off the counter.
Once we're done cleaning, "You clean up nice." He jokes.
"Thanks." I say not impressed with his joke.
"You have fun tonight but not too much fun. Here's twenty dollars order a pizza if you'd like."
"Thank you."
"I got things I could be doing at the shop I'm gonna take off now."
"Okay."
"I ain't ever seen you put this much effort. You must really like her." Wayne teases me before leaving.
I haven't fully decided exactly what we're gonna do. Watch a movie, buy a pizza. Maybe?
Emily should be here any second. I peek out a window when I hear a car drive past my house. It's Emily and her mom, the car parks in front of Max's house. Emily steps out and walks up to Max's front door, pretending to knock while her mom drives away. Once the car fully disappears she turns around and starts walking towards my home.
Fuck I can't believe she's coming here. She's wearing a striped t-shirt, black skirt and a over sized jean jacket. The most notable piece of her outfit is the tights she's wearing, combat boots for shoes. She looks amazing.
I close the blinds and pretend like I wasn't just watching her. I go to the kitchen and pretend to be cleaning like it matters what I'm doing when she knocks on the door. Like she can sense from outside how much anxiety I have in this moment.
Quiet knocks come from the door, I take my time going to open it not wanting to seem too eager. I open the door, greeted by a smiley Emily. She's wearing eyeliner and lipstick, her lips shinny. My eyes go down lower staring at her legs in those tights.
"Hi," She says bring my attention back to her face.
"Hi," I smile, "Come in." She walks inside and past me, I shut the door and watch her check out my home.
"So what're we gonna do tonight?" She asks taking a seat on the couch.
"Whatever you want. We can watch a movie, order a pizza."
"Sounds like fun."
"Do you want something to drink?" I make my way to the fridge, "We got beer, beer and more beer apparently." I sigh shifting around in the fridge.
"I don't drink." She states.
"Why not?" I ask.
"I dunno, never have had the opportunity."
"Do you want to?"
"Not tonight, maybe another time. Too many firsts tonight already."
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"Sorry that was stupid, I shouldn't of said that." She apologizes.
"It's okay, I won't judge you."
"I don't want to go into too many details but I've just lived a very boring life. I haven't done anything. This is going to sounds so stupid, I've never gone to a guys house, especially alone. It's already a lot for one tonight." She looks uncomfortably at her hands.
I sit down next to her, grabbing her hands with mine. "You don't need to worry. We won't do any thing you don't want to do. I promise."
"Thank you," She smiles and I can feel her getting more comfortable. I let go of her hands and grab my phone.
"What kind of pizza do you like?" I ask.
"Pineapple." She says.
"Absolutely disgusting."
Offended she says, "No it's delicious! It's my favorite."
"Fine." I pull out my phone, dial the local pizza place and place an order for a large pineapple pizza. She watches me as I talk on the phone.
As soon as I hang up, "You didn't have to do that if you didn't want it."
"Anything for you." I smirk and she laughs.
"You're so cheesy."
