Sunpelt stirs and looks over at Foxpaw I don't want to leave you he thinks.
"Sunpelt is everything okay?" asks a cat behind him.
"Your back already Brightpuddle?" asks Sunpelt to the cat behind him.
"I have to talk to Riverstar" she meows.
"I'm going there too" Sunpelt meows looking again at Foxpaw.
He leans down and gives Foxpaw a lick on the forehead.
"How's he doing?" asks Brightpuddle moving up next to Sunpelt and sniffing Foxpaw.
"Good we talked and shared some prey last night" Sunpelt meows.
"Good, he should be ok to head back to training in a few sunrises" Brightpuddle meows.
Sunpelt nods and pushes his way out of the den with Brightpuddle following close behind.
They both gaze at Sliverpelt shining in the sky.
Sunpelt bounds towards Highledge and up the rocks. He enters Riverstars den and sees Nightcloud with Speckkit and Skykit curled up in her lap, and Riverstar snoring softly beside her.
"Riverstar?" asks Sunpelt quietly.
"Is something wrong, my son?" asks Riverstar.
"Can I get on the dawn patrol?" Sunpelt asks.
"Sure, don't worry about it" meows Riverstar a yawn passing through his words.
Nightcloud stirs awake.
"Is something wrong?" she asks barely awake.
Skykit stirs too and raises her head.
"What's going on?" she asks.
"Nothing go back to sleep, Skykit" meows Riverstar.
"I can't now" Skykit squeaks.
"Sunpelt take her out to play" meows Riverstar.
"Ok come on Skykit" Sunpelt meows as he beckons her with his tail.
"I'll bring her back at dawn" Sunpelt meows pushing Skykit out in front of him.
Sunpelt helps Skykit down the rocks to make sure she doesn't stumble down.
He notices an orange cat coming out of the medicine den, It's Foxpaw.
"Foxpaw what are you doing out here?" Sunpelt meows rushing up to him.
"I wanted to be with you and Brightpuddle didn't tell me no" Foxpaw meows.
"Skykit can't sleep so I promised Riverstar that would play with her"
"Moss ball, moss ball!" Skykit squeaks as she rushes to the medicine den.
Sunpelt and Foxpaw watch Skykit reach the medicine den and run inside.
"Kits are something else aren't they, Sunpelt?" asks Foxpaw running his tail along Sunpelts back.
"They sure are, Foxpaw" Sunpelt meows pushing his nose into Foxpaws chest.
Skykit comes rushing out of the medicine den with a small ball of moss.
Foxpaw and Sunpelt toss the ball of moss to and from each other for Skykit to catch until dawn and chase her around.
