Lloyd comes out (again, lol) - Ninjago

I made this video and sort of wanted to write it out as a story, so... I did. Ha. 

I really need to stop hyper fixating on this show lol

Jay's POV

I grumbled to myself as I swept the basement of the monastery. Sensei had gone out to town, so he left the six of us ninja to clean up while he was away. 

"There sure is a lot of stuff in here," Nya said. "We're never gonna get through it all."

I glanced over to the corner of the room, where Nya and Zane were sorting through old boxes. I was getting tired of the broom, so I set it down and joined the other two on the floor. 

"Wow, Sensei looks so young here!" I laughed, holding up an old photograph. He and Garmadon were sitting up in a tree, both smiling. They couldn't have been older than five. 

"It's hard to imagine that our mentor was once a ninja-in-training," Zane said. "Just like us."

"Hey, look at this one," Nya said. She held up a picture of a young girl. "Who's this? Misako?"

Zane and I scooted over to her and took the image out of her hand. 

"That is unlikely," Zane determined. "Misako isn't blonde."

Nya made a face of agreement. "It does look like her, though. But you're right; her name is Lauren."

On the other side of the room, a mop clattered to the floor. I squinted at the messy handwriting on the Polaroid; it read "Lauren's eighth birthday."

"Hey, guys! Come take a look at this," I called to our other three teammates. Kai and Cole came over quickly, but Lloyd kept his distance. 

"Whoa," Kai said. "Is it just me, or does that look like the love child of Garmadon and Misako?"

Nya raised an eyebrow. "They do have a love child. His name is Lloyd."

Cole chuckled at the sibling banter. "Maybe they had a daughter we never knew about. Or maybe she's somebody's sister--"

"It's me."

The meek voice came from across the basement. The five of us looked up at Lloyd, who was sweating buckets. 

"You mean...?" Kai questioned. 

Lloyd rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm trans."

My eyes widened. Nya's jaw dropped. Everyone else just stared at our teammate in shock. 

"And I'm sorry I didn't tell you," he whispered. "But... this is the first place I've ever felt like I could just truly be myself."

I scanned the others' faces, and they were all smiling just as fondly as I was. Cole was the first to walk over to him, and crushed him in a hug. 

"I'm glad you feel that way, buddy."

Lloyd, no longer shaking nervously, closed his eyes and hugged him back. The rest of us headed over to join in on the embrace. 

"Thank you for sharing this with us," Zane said. "I'm sure that wasn't an easy thing to say."

"It wasn't," Lloyd muttered. "But you're the best family I've ever had. It's about time you knew. Besides, if you dig further down in that box, you'll find a whole bunch of grumpy pictures of me from that party. I wasn't in the greatest mood."

"Yeah, no sh*t," Kai laughed. He pointed at the photo in my hand. "You look like you're about to tear that dress to shreds"
