Thats all that he understood, while he sat in the doctors office.
"Qasim? Are you with me ?" Dr. Fazila Khurram asked, she was a friend of his brother, one of the best oncologists in the country.
She looked at him with pity in her eyes .
"Qasim?" She asked again,
"Hmm yea" he said as he straightened in his seat.
"Sorry I got distracted" he said, shaking his head .
She nodded ,
"Qasim , I understand this cannot be easy for you" she started ,
"But the truth is her cancer is back," she said ,
"It also seems to be more aggressive this time around."she told him ,
He nodded ,
"I was hoping if you wouldn't inform her of all this?" He requested ,And Dr. Fazila shook her head,
"Qasim that goes against our practice, I already told her yesterday when she came in for a check up,I'm sorry I didn't know she hadn't told you." she told him.
Nodding his head he got up ,
"Thankyou Dr. Fazila" he said and she nodded .
He headed out, his wife had come in for the treatment the day before , and she was resting at home.

He drove to his sister's place to pick up his 3 year old daughter.
Neelum had fostered Inaya when she had been born , and continued to help him with his daughter .
He parked his car and got out, before he reached the door his sister opened if,
"Assalamulalikum bhai" she said happily,
"Waalikumassalam, how are you?" He asked as she let him enter ,
"Mein theek hun, Inaya and Ayan are both asleep." She said ,
"Would you like some tea or coffee?" She asked ,
He shook his head,
"Nothing" he mumbled .
"Ibrahim kaha hai?" He asked ,
"He's gone with Aunty and Humna , unhein kuch samaan chahiye tha" she told him.
He drummed his fingers over the counter.
"Inaya ko jaga doun?" She asked ,
He shook his head,
"Nahi , I'll pick her up" he said as she led him to the room where both children were asleep.
He noticed another figure there aswell,
It was his sister's sister in law ,
"Assalamulalikum" she said as she noticed him approach.
"Waalikumassalam"he said but his focus was on his daughter.
"Rukhsar, dono aisay sou rahay hain jaisay k 5 minute pehle inho ne ghar sar par nahi uthaya tha." Neelum laughed .
"Why don't you let Inaya stay ?" Rukhsar asked softly,
Qasim shook his head,
"Saima will miss her" he said as he picked her up pressing a kiss to her head.

He placed his daughter on her bed and headed to his own room.
His wife looked so frail in her bed .
She turned to him and smiled ,
"Inaya kaha hai?" She asked as he sar down next to her taking her hand in his he pressed a kiss to it.
"Sou rahi thi" he told her , and she nodded .
"How are you feeling ?" He asked ,
"Sach bataoun?" She said ,
