J'onn J'onzz x Green Martian!Reader

You look longingly at J'onn, but sigh and leave the main room to go to your room. You had been on the verge of the mind meld with J'onn when Flash died. When Flash passed away the League took a dark turn. Superman killed Lex Luthor, Batman rarely left his cave, Wonder Woman was devoted to Superman (not romantically), and J'onn wouldn't allow himself to get too attached to anyone else. Flash's death had a worse effect on everyone than anything else.

"You miss him don't you?" Hawkgirl asked and you sighed. "Both of them?"

"Yes. I-I just want how things used to be. There was always a fight, Flash was always here, and I had J'onn. Now though? Now I have nothing." You said as you let your fake appearance fade. You weren't afraid of Hawkgirl seeing your true form. She had seen it on multiple occasions and wasn't afraid of your Martian form. Luckily you were in your room so it was in private.

"It will get better, Sa'riin." She says as she takes off her helmet.

"Shayera I held out hope for 2 years that he would come back. He will not, and with no mate things don't seem like they will get better." You tell her and she looks at you sadly. "What is it Wonder Woman says? The Fates were not kind when they made my destiny."

"I truly am sorry, Sa-" She starts to say but you cut her off.

"Please don't call me by that name. That's what he used to call me. I am simply either Iustitia, or (Y/n)." You tell her and she sets a hand on your shoulder.

"I am sorry Iustitia." She says and you frown.

"Please don't tell Superman what I said." You say and she nods.

"Anything said in here stays between us." She tells you as she puts her helmet back on, then she gets up and leaves the room. You shifted back to Iustitia and rejoined the others in the main room.

"Where's Lantern and Hawkgirl?" You ask Superman.

"They went down to Earth to pacify a protest, and J'onn asked them to try and get Batman out of that cave of his." Superman said as he looked at you with a frown on his face. He never really smiled these days, and it used to be an everyday sight. "Something is bothering you."

"It is personal. I wouldn't want to bother you with it." You tell him and his frown deepens.

"Whatever it is I'm your friend Iustitia. Friends are supposed to be there for eachother." He says as he gives you one of his rare small smiles, and you let your control slip on your powers. "Iustitia you're turning green."

"Oh sorry... I just haven't seen you smile in a long time. I missed it." You sigh as you lean against the wall. "There's alot of things that I miss about the old days." You say as you cast a glance towards J'onn, and Superman catches what you mean. "I just want..." You take a deep breath and release it. "I just want my old life back. Don't get me wrong. I like the peaceful way of Earth now, but what's peace without a life partner." You tell Superman and he looks at you sympathetically.

"I know what it's like to be one of the few of your own kind left in the universe. My sister, my cousin, and I are the only Kryptonians left in the Galaxy. You and J'onn are the only remaining Martians. It's only natural to want to be close, and feel the affection of your own race." Superman said, but when he looked in your eyes his frown deepened. "I'm not going to lie and say that he will come around, because it's been two years."

"I'm honestly done waiting Superman. I just want my fair chance at love... At a normal life." You stop and think for a moment. "Well as normal as ones life can be for a Martian on Earth." You joke with Superman, and he chuckles.

"I understand that one. Lois has been riding my back for the last two years." Superman says and you sigh.

"Well... You did marry a journalist. Their job is quite literally freedom of speech. Which hasn't been allowed since... That day." You say and become saddened by the thought of Flash. Superman catches onto your sour mood, but you cut off anything he might be about to say. "But I sense you have a dinner date to get to. You should get going." You tell him with a pat to the shoulder and a gentle smile.
