Madison is the daughter of Victor and Diane Baye. Her father Victor is a mutant as she later learns he suppressed his powers to marry her mom. She is their only child biologically as when her powers manifested at the age of 12, her best friend that lived next door to them became their "new daughter." Madison soon became an outcast to her whole family after an incident during thanksgiving at their home causing major damage to pictures.
A couple hours after the accident at her parents home, Sentinel Services came and took her. During her time in the detention center she found a book on her great grandfather and the meaning behind her powers. Fearing the for the worst of anyone finding out about this different power she ripped the pages out of the book and stored it inside her bag she taken from home. Madison kept in contact with her best friend until news broke out about her secret power, but kept mute due to the fact.
