"Why are you aboard my Dreadnaught?"

His voice was gritty and rough, but either way you blushed under your helmet.

"I was trying to escape the Vanguard and this was the only place to go," you fought hard to keep y out r voice from quivering. You were genuinely terrified although his voice was enthralling to you.

He didn't reply to what you said, looking at you with a perplexed look across his boney Hive face. Even though you were a guardian who was supposed to detest the Hive, you found him rather attractive.

The silence was suddenly broken by Oryx speaking to the knight next to you in Hive chatter that you couldn't understand. The knight then got up and made their way through the door, leaving you and the king alone.

"Why are you running from the Vanguard?"

He wanted to know because he was genuinely interested in what you had to say. He was rather captivated by you.

"I don't want to be a Light-Barer anymore, I'm tired of being a pawn to the Traveler."

You knew that what you said was the truth. You were tired of fighting for a "God" that never spared their pawns a glance. You hated being "blessed with light."
To you, it was a curse.

The King looked rather surprised at your answer. He felt the hate in the words spoken. He knew that you hated the Light and the Vanguard. He liked that you spoke your mind about how you felt.

"I see," his voice had a noticeable smirk to it.

"You just opened up about your hate for the Light you've been given and the Traveler, I can't let such an opportunity slip," he leaned forward in his throne, so he was closer to you.

"How about you join me, be my Queen, help me lead my army, I know you won't refuse this offer...I saw how you reacted to my voice," he was genuine about the offer but he said the last part in a teasing tone.

"And what if I refuse?" You weren't quite sure that you wanted to accept this offer even though being his Queen did sound quite nice...

"I'll kill you." His answer was short and simple, you could tell was serious.

"I'll give you a minute to decide."

(Author's Note: now we get to the good part! Finally, we get to speak with the King!)
