It was a hot summer day and I felt like going out. Like to the beach... or something like that.
Wait, wasn't Hero coming back from college today?
I have to get him a gift!
I rushed to get my clothes on and go to Hobbeez, and get him something from Gino's he'd like...
I ran through my door, accidentally bumping into Kel who was probably coming over to my house.
"Ow! Dang, you're really in a hurry aren't you Y/n?" he asked, smiling sheepishly. "You know Hero's coming back today Kel! I have to make sure all of my gifts are perfect!" I fretted.
"Pssh, I'm sure he'll say something cheesy like, 'Oh Y/n, I'm just happy you're here with me, mwah mwah mwah, you're so prettyyy,'" Kel mimicked. I blushed slightly. "Hero wouldn't say thattt.. plus, I'm sure he doesn't like me.." I smiled uncontrollably. "Oh no, he would say that. In fact, how about I come with you and help you pick things out that he'd like?" Kel leaned on my fence. "You'd do that for me?" I asked. "I just wanna see my ship sail... oh and Sunny does too. Which is whyyy.. I'm gonna go get him," he said, walking away from my house. "I'm already ready, so I'll just come with you and we can all walk to Hobbeez together," I smiled. "Alrighty! Let's go then!" he said.
I followed him to Sunny's place as he banged on the door.
"SUNSSS! WANNA COME WITH ME AND Y/N TO GET HERO SOME GIFTSSSS?" Kel yelled. Sunny immediately opened the door. "Sure Kel. Hello Y/n," he slightly smiled. "Hey Sunny," I smiled back. "NOW LET'S GO!" Kel exclaimed.

We ran to Hobbeez, out of breath when we met Shopkeep outside, just opening the store.
"Damn, you three are early! Didn't even open yet..." he said. "Sorry Shopkeep but this is an emergency! Y/n needs a gift for Hero! He's coming back from college today and she wants it to be speciallll~" Kel teased, Sunny snickering with him. "Y-YOU TWO!!" I screeched, flustered.
"Ooh, I get it. You have a little crush on him, huh? Don't worry, your secret's safe with me. To be honest, I think he fancies you too. He bought something from me last year and said it was for 'someone special.' If you really wanna shoot your shot, today would be a great day to do it!" he said.
I blushed while Sunny and Kel kept snickering and went to pick something out.
"Maybe.. get him something cool! Like uh.. I dunno, a new non-stick frying pan?" Kel suggested. "Kel, what is cool about a frying pan," Sunny asked. "IT'S NON STICK! He won't have to worry about his perfect pancakes ever being ruined again..." Kel swooned. "Okay, maybe something more.. enjoyable," I said. "Oooh, maybe Papa Chip's Chip-Off-The-Old‐Block Cookbook? Shoot, I already got him that for his last visit!" Kel continued. I picked up a CD and placed it back down.
How was I ever supposed to get a gift for someone so perfect..?
"If you need help, I think I have just the thing in mind."
I looked up at Shopkeep, holding a small gift box in his hand. He opened it and showed me a heart locket.
"It's perfect! How much is it?" I asked. "It's on the house," he said, giving it to me. "Really..? No no no, I can't just take this, I–"
"Y/n, nobody has seen him this happy since... well.. you know. I just know he loves you. Take it," he said, putting it in my hand. "Thank you. Thank you so much," I teared up. "He's definitely gonna be swept off his feet with that," Sunny said softly. "I'm telling you, he's gonna say that cheesy bit I told you earlier!" Kel said.
