Rhaena's POV
Aemond and i walked out of the Queens chambers in all honesty i was still angry about our whole conversation. She is crazy if she would ever think that I would betray my mothr shes dumb even because my loyalty shall forver lay with my mother and brothers.
" You're fiercely loyal Rhaena , I've always admired that about you." I was startled out of thought when I heard Aemond speak . I was so deep in thought that I had forgotten he was there
" Thank you Aemond" I said as we continued to walk towards the garden it was my favorite place in the Red keep it gave me a sense of peace and mind
"But loyalty is all that stays in your heart well to everyone but me " I was confused by when he said that
" Aemond im not going to do this with you" I said i was already annoyed but im going to be the bigger person in this situation
"We are not the same people that we used to be " I said
" You are right we are different now" He said with a look on his face we continued walking i paused when i heard him speak
"Have you given your heart to another Rhaena?" He asked with curiosity i was baffled that this was the first question he asked me
" No,Why would I? Love only brings problems i rather not deal with it " I said we counted to walk into the garden the lords and lady there bowed to us ignored them as i reached to smell the roses
" I remember when we were young you spoke of wanting that." He said i was surprised he remembered that i forgot about that time under the trees little did he know that was what i was experiencing in the moment now my heart is made of steel, no other man makes it beat like he did.
" Love is only desire" I said being blunt i rather not lie
" Everyone desires something" He spoke in a matter of fact tone we continued walked people smiled at me and smiled back towards them
" What is it that you desire most, Rhaena, what is that you want most?" He said that I stopped walking and turned towards him. He stared right into my eyes and started to walk closer to me until we were close enough so people wont think much of it . I looked up at him a little and my heart started to beat fast
" I - I desire freedom only" He hummed when I said that he just stood there and observed my features it's like he was looking at every detail on my face and then moved back and walked past me and said
" You're lying" when he walked away I released a sigh and continued to walk.
" So what is it that you desire the most, Aemond?" I asked him if it's only fair because he asked me .
" What I desire is something I've wanted for a long time and now I've finally gained it . I don't know if you would say it's still a desire" When he said that he was looking at me I assumed that he was speaking about his Dragon but something in me told me that it was something else or maybe someone else .
We reached the part in the garden where the servants made us a little food set up we sat there in the shade of the sun I looked up and closed my eyes and said
" The weather is beautiful today" I smiled in contempt I then looked over at Aemond who was just staring at me and he said
" Beautiful indeed" I knew he wasn't talking about the weather so I scuffed and walked past him to hide the blush that was creeping up on my face . We sat down and thought that maybe we should speak about our future marriage
" We are to be married soon and I know you don't wish that , I only ask that our past grievances will not be held against eachother , we should atleast try to enjoy this seeing as we will spend most of our time together." When I said this he had a look on his face that I couldn't read he only nodded his head in agreement and then spoke
" ive been wanting to apologize for calling you a whore last night it would seem my anger got the best of me." i was shocked that he would apologies i thought he would just turn blind eye to this
" Apology accepted, see we're off to a good start." I held my hand out to for him to shake and asked
" So,friends?" He took my hand but he didn't shake it , he instead kissed it and said with a smirk
