"So Joe..." Tris crossed his arms in front of his chest and eyed Joe, who had just gotten his Coke, critically. "You're the guy who fucked my cousin, then. Twice!"
"Tristan" Phoebe yelled out indignantly, while Joe choked on his Coke in surprise and started coughing loudly. Sam and Kim snorted, Ja'Marr staring at Joe with widened eyes.
"Twice? You guys fucked again? How come I don't know about this?" he asked almost insulted as Joe slowly calmed down. "So I wasn't the only one who wasn't told" Kim stated with satisfaction.
"You told them?" Joe looked at Phoebe, who immediately held her arms protectively in front of her body. "I didn't do anything. Sam blabbed, that's how Kim found out it happened the second time, and the two of them together then gave Tris so much help until he figured it out too"
"And I had to find out from Sam too? Why didn't you tell me and how did it happen? You couldn't stand her" Ja'Marr stared back and forth between Joe and Phoebe in surprise.
"They both don't know. It just happened" Sam explained. "And how did you know?" Ja'marr asked further. "He was there" Kim replied. "What?!" Ja'marr eyed Joe, stunned.
"Not during, after" Phoebe sighed "why does everyone think we had a threesome?" Kim shrugged. "Maybe you come across as someone who can get it on with two men at the same time"
"Or you come across like a dick addicted bitch" Tris added. "Tristan" this time Kim was the one who cried out indignantly and punched Tris in the arm.
"You called her a horny bitch before too" Tris rubbed her arm in offense. "I'm allowed to, I'm her best friend" Kim retorted.
"Anyway, now everyone knows. Joe and I have slept together twice. We don't hate each other anymore, but we are not friends. And that's the end of it" Phoebe summed up with a sigh.
"Do you really think it's a good idea for them to sit next to each other?" Ja'Marr murmured to Sam. "Why? You think they'll end up in bed together again?" Sam asked back. "I wouldn't be surprised" Ja'marr shrugged. "there you go, why do you think we put them next to each other?" Kim butted into the conversation.
Phoebe rolled her eyes. "Why are we only friends with people like that?" she looked at Joe with a sigh. "Sometimes I wonder that too" he replied also sighing.
Phoebe had to admit, however, that the rest of the evening was actually quite relaxed. There were jokes here and there against Joe and her, but otherwise everyone was having a good time and most importantly, Kim was distracted and spent the whole evening with a smile on her face.
Things briefly got weird again at goodbye. Kim, who definitely had a few too many cocktails, pulled Ja'Marr and Joe into a hug without a second thought, so Phoebe decided to follow her lead as well.
"Uhh, bye, i guess" unsteadily she stood in front of Joe and pulled him to her very quickly before rejoining the others. Joe gave her a confused look before raising his hand again briefly and then walking away with Ja'Marr in the opposite direction.

"And you're sure I can leave you alone?" Phoebe asked as she stood with Kim at her best friend's apartment. The boys were waiting downstairs by her car while Phoebe had still taken Kim upstairs.
"Absolutely. You've done enough already, Pheebs. I had a lot of fun this evening. Besides, I've had enough to drink to just lie in bed and sleep" Kim pulled her into a hug.
"Thank you....for making me go out" she smiled at her. "That's what I'm here for. And if there's anything tonight or tomorrow, call me. You know I'll come by your place any time of the day or night" Phoebe pressed a kiss to her cheek.
"Will do. But now make sure you don't keep the boys waiting any longer. Good night, Pheebs" Kim said goodbye. "Good night, Kimmy" Phoebe smiled before walking out of the apartment.
Since Sam was the only one who hadn't been drinking alcohol, he had signed up as the driver before they had even gone to the bar. Tris had taken a seat in the back seat again with a small protest, while Phoebe in the passenger seat had her music playing from the speaker.
Arriving at the underground parking garage of the Brown grandchildren's apartment complex, everyone got out of the car. "Do you still want to come up? It's not that late, you're off tomorrow and you really need to see our apartment" Phoebe looked at Sam questioningly. "Sure, why not?" Sam grinned and followed the two to the elevator.
Tris said goodbye to bed rather quickly when they arrived at the apartment, while Phoebe gave Sam a quick tour and the two finally took a seat on the couch. Behind them was the still partially lit city, which could be seen through the large panorama windows.
"tonight was really cool, wasn't it?" Sam started the conversation. Phoebe nodded. "I really had fun and Kim was distracted. Was a fun constellation" she agreed with him.
"And that's with Joe and you in one spot. Until yesterday at noon, I wouldn't have expected that the two of you could be seated at the same table without attacking each other" Sam grinned.
"Well, after you all made fun of us, we more or less had to band together and you witnessed it yesterday, we're ok. Not friends, but ok" Phoebe shrugged.
"I'm really glad about that" Sam admitted. "Yeah, honestly, me too. I mean, it was really exhausting arguing with him all the time and I don't like hating people" Phoebe replied.
"That's the biggest lie I've ever heard from you. You like confrontation and I can immediately think of people you will hate forever" Sam laughed out. "Speaking of, heard from your mom again?" Sam asked gently.
"Thankfully, no. But I'll be seeing her soon. The wedding is in two weeks and next weekend is the bachelorette party" Phoebe rolled her eyes.
"Explain to me again why your cousin invited you to her bachelorette party when you don't like each other and you're not even a bridesmaid" Sam looked at her.
Phoebe sighed. "Because Virginia is a bridesmaid and she probably feels bad that my stepsister, who isn't even really related to her, is there but I'm not"
"Your family is really weird" Sam noted. "Just my mother's part" Phoebe clarified.
"But back to Joe. I'm glad you guys can stand each other now. I could actually see you guys getting along pretty well and becoming pretty good friends" Sam changed the subject.
"well, I think we've already missed that chance" Phoebe mumbled. "And it's all your fault with your weird actions at the club" Sam added.
"Yeah, i know" Phoebe sighed "Pheebs, i know we already talked about it, but i still don't know how you could be so mean and stupid" Sam clarified.
"I don't know what was going through my head, Sam. You don't know how many times I went over in my mind how different, better things could have been if I had acted differently" Phoebe admitted.
"I think maybe Joe and you would be in a different place. Better. And maybe more would have come of it anyway" Sam shrugged.
"You think?" Phoebe asked, surprised. "To be honest, yes. I think you two would be pretty good for each other and complement each other well" Sam replied. "But the way everything started, it's hard to say" he added.
