"Can we talk about something for a bit?"

Atsushi looked at Akutagawa curiously, "Weren't you the one who just said something about how we couldn't eat silently for 10 minutes?"

"I know what I said" Akutagawa rolled his eyes, "but this is important."

"Okay then." Atsushi side eyed him suspiciously, "Talk away then." He said cheerfully, chowing down on some more ramen.

"It's about what happened at the mall."

Atsushi froze.

Oh no.

Panic was already going through Atsushi's mind. He knew Akutagawa would ask this but not so soon.

"Hah.. what about it?" Atsushi chuckled nervously.

"Why'd you cause a scene?"

"It was unintentional!"

"Okay then why'd you unintentionally cause a scene?" Akutagawa rolled his eyes at Atsushi's little comment.

"No reason."

"We both know that there is a reason, a reason that you're hiding." Akutagawa narrowed his eyes as if he was trying to read Atsushi's reason right from his head.

"So persistent! I'm serious, it's nothing really. Don't worry about it!" Atsushi laughed but he could feel himself start to sweat from how nervous he was.

Akutagawa looked at him before sighing, "Sure, you don't have to tell me. Just remember your the reason why that whole commotion happened." He got up after, to throw away his empty ramen cup.

Akutagawa knew how unnecessarily rude and guilt trippy that response was, however from what he has observed so far, Atsushi is someone who is very influenced by emotions. So if Akutagawa could just make him feel bad about something from that day maybe he could get an answer.

However, Atsushi wasn't saying anything.

Akutagawa was just about to walk out of the kitchen before he finally spoke.

"I thought-"

Akutagawa stopped.

"I thought I saw someone... from a long time ago."

Akutagawa swear he could hear Atsushi's voice cracking.

"I'm assuming not a good 'someone'?" Akutagawa questioned as he was finally getting somewhere.

"N-No. I'm sorry I panicked at the mall. They just just looked so much like him" Atsushi broke into a sob.

That's when Akutagawa finally turned around to look at Atsushi, all he could see was his shaking body though. He walked back to his seat next to Atsushi and put a hand on his shoulder, "Who's 'him'?".

Atsushi looked at him, tears streaming down his face.

"My orphanage director."

He sobbed again.

Akutagawa didn't really know what to say now.
