𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐎 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐔𝐏 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐒 in one of the aisle, watching as max covered the stab wound on her stomach. her eyes were glossy as she looked at the cut over max's eyebrows, remembering when she had slammed the strawberry blonde into the wall that caused the small cut. she remembered everything she did to everyone and she was glad that lucas had done what he did. if he didn't, everyone would've been dead. max looked up when she had felt arlo staring at her. her chest ached when she saw the conflicted look on arlo's face, quickly finishing taping the gauze to the girl's stomach.

"cherry -" max started, her voice barely above a whisper.

"i'm sorry." arlo interrupted, a tear trailing down her cheek as her and max made eye contact. "i'm so fucking sorry."

max reached forward and cupped arlo's cheek, using the pad of her thumb to wipe away the singular tear that had fallen. "do not blame yourself."

arlo sniffled, more tears starting to trail down her cheeks as she bit back a sob. "i knocked you and lucas out. i made percy live out his. . . worse nightmare. i almost choked mike to death. and - and jonathan, his face. and i punched nancy so many times. i hurt you. i did that. i did it."
