chapter 10: new enemy's, new friend's

Kate took her two loves out on her scheduled hunt along with Garth as they had gone out hunting they herd humans talking and hid they were in shadow forest as if the ghost wasn't bad enough humans were out there now "so what are we doing out here again?" Trevor asked "looking for any remaining shadows I guess" Connor said, he stopped at the stream to fill his cantin with water now was Trevor's chance, Kate saw the mean looking human pull out a rusty old knife "alright no-" he was cut off when Trevor thrusted the knife into his chest, his eyes shot wide open and he dropped to his knees bleeding out "wh, why?" He choked out "well my mission wasn't to kill you I just needed a sample of your blood the commander just didn't care how I got it" he said sadistically "my blood what the fuck do you need my blood for" he said angrily "I hardly see how that matters now" Trevor said as he resheathed the knife "I hope you die out here" Connor said weekly before being kicked into the stream by Trevor, Kate and Garth nodded to one another before attacking Kate bit the back of his leg before Garth bit his throat killing him, Kate went to the water pulling Connor out "I've never seen humans attack each other before" Humphrey said "wait why are we helping him he's a human" Garth said "a human that was betrayed by his own packmate" Kate said as she laid him on the stream side cleaning his wound, they herd someone nearby it was a little pup she was obviously blind "hello pup what's your name" Amber asked "Daria" she answered "where are your parents?" She asked "their dead" she answered They spend the rest of the night comforting the child and decided to adopt her, Connor later awoke and started sowing up his wound hissing in pain each time the needle went through his flesh despite that he managed to get it done, afterwards he set up a tent intending to stay there for the night he then noticed the group of wolf's crowding around him, he was a little nervous at first but Kate laid her head in his lap giving him puppy eyes, he reached down and scratched her behind the ear causing her to kick her leg happily she than realized this and blushed he chuckled "aw how cute" he went over to the stream and cought fish, later that night he had cooked several fish and turtles from the stream feeding both himself and the wolf's "I'm starting to like this guy" Amber said "yeah he's a real sweetheart" Kate said as Connor currently had Daria in his lap, "alrighty little one, I'm heading to bed" he went into his tent climbing into his tent as soon as he closed his eyes he felt weight on each end of him as all of his wolf friends has crowded around him he smiled and laid down to rest, the next morning he headed out thanking his little friends as they had all hope they would get to meet him again someday
