"You are not working anymore Mythili." He said sternly the next day. "What?!" She almost yelled surprised by the sudden absurd decision her husband was taking.
They announced the news to their friends the next day when everyone is lounging after a hearty breakfast. Everyone was ecstatic to say the least.
"And why is that?" She asked crossing her hands over her bossom.
"I don't want you to have any kind of stress. Your health is my top most priority. You are not to set a foot out of our bed." Arjun said with all the seriousness.
"Excuse me! Are you crazy?" She was bewildered by his conditions.
Sighing Arjun went to her. Crouching down he took her hands in his'. "Baby please. If anything happens to you, I don't have it in me to bear that pain again. I can't handle it one more time. Please understand my concern." He said softly almost in pained voice.
Mythi's face softened listening to him. She took his face in her palms.
"Aju please. I understand your concern. But you have to understand me. You know that I cannot sit ideally. I will loose my mind if I stay at home. What you are telling me to do is not protecting me Arjun, it's punishing me. It's a punishment for being pregnant." She said looking into his concerned eyes.
He stood up and went outside, pacing in the veranda running his hand through his hair. Their friends didn't know how to help them.
Sighing Abhi went to Arjun. "Arjun listen" he said gaining Arjun's attention. "It's not fair you know, what you are asking her to do. I understand that you are concerned. Everyone understand that. But locking her in the house is not the solution." Abhi tried explaining.
Rohan and Vaibhav joined their conversation a few minutes later.
"That's true man. If you are concerned about her work load, let her have a PA. But keeping her in the house is not a better solution." Rohan said.
"We understand your fear. The people who caused trouble for you guys are no more. There is no one out there to harm anyone of us. We know it's not easy, but at one point you have to come out of this fear." Vaibhav said going near him. "Think well before forcing anything on her" he said patting his shoulder.
"Come on sweety, let's eat something. I am sure you will be hungry." Ajay said going to Mythi who is anxiously watching the other guys talking outside. "What are you craving?"
When Mythi didn't respond he took her hand in his' gaining her attention and spoke "sunshine, don't worry. They will talk to him. We are here to support you. So stop overthinking and come eat something."
"Arjun.." Mythi said when Arjun entered their room in the night. The whole day he didn't speak to her and avoided everyone. He wanted to be alone to come to terms with his fears.
Her friends assured her that he will come around and since then she waiting for him to come and to talk to her.
He sighed seeing her still awake, waiting for him. Taking out his mobile from the trouser pocket he kept it on the side table and sat next to her. "I am sorry." He said not looking at her. When he didn't get any reply he turned to see her staring at him with a frown.
He sighed and turned to face her. "Am sorry, I let my fears cloud my mind. I didn't mean to yell at you." He said taking her hands in his'.
"I understand your concern Aju. But please, I will be careful. Nothing will happen to me." she said softly.
"I know. I will make damn sure of it." He promised kissing her palms.
"Come here." He said opening his arms. Not wasting a second she threw herself onto him and hugged him as if her life's dependent on him.
"I love you" he whispered kissing her hair. "I love too Aju, love you so much."
