He stood and walked over to me.
He put his fist over his mouth and started laughing.
"What's up Akair." I said , standing up and hugging him.
"Wassup Carson , how you holding up nd shit?" He asked , hugging me back.
"I'm doing good .. I have permanent custody of Vade's kid." I said.
"Lil man right? Ain't he like 6 or 7 now? Time flying fast. How he doing?" He asked.
"He's um .. hanging in there. I just wish his father was here to watch him grow up but that's my job nd shit now." I said.
"You know if you ever need anything , I gotchu." He said.
"Thank you but , we all good over here." I said , lowkey curving him.
"Oh aight .. I see you. But like I said .. hit me up if you ever need something." He said again.
He walked away.
"Ouuu! That boy want you." Kalone said.
"That's Vade's friend .. I can't do that." I said.
"Listen , dick is dick. And that nigga got money. You better get that." Kalone said.
"You just nasty cause I would never sleep with my ex's friend. Just cause you over there cheating on Milano don't mean i'm tryna do that. And about that .. keep me out of it. I don't wanna be apart of that when he finds out either." I said.
"He won't find out if you'n tell him." Kalone said.
"I will not be the reason one of my best friends heart got broken." I said.
Later that night ..
I was off so many liquors .. I could barely see straight.
Kalone was off with some thot.
I stood up , grabbed my purse and started walking out.
Akair seen me stumbling and walked over to me.
He grabbed me and picked me up.
Legs in one arm , body in other.
"Boyy put me down." I said , fully drunk.
"Nah .. ion think you should drive home. You too lit." He said.
"So what i'm posed to do? Sleep at the club? I gotta go home , I got a child." I said.
"Carson .. i'm not letting you drive home like this. Please just let me take you to your house. I can't have you catching a dui out here." He said.
".. Finee Akair .. just take me home so I can see my son." I said.
"Aight cmon." He said.
He carried me to my car and put me in it.
I passed him the keys and he got in the front seat.
He pulled off and drove me home.
When we got to my moms house , he opened the door for me helped me out the car.
I got my keys and opened the door.
He stood outside.
"Um you can come in." I said.
"Nah , ima just order me a uber." He said.
"Well why you order your uber , come inside." I said.
"You sure?" He asked.
"Boy bring yo ass in here." I said , grabbing him by his hand and pulling him in the house and my room.
He sat in the chair in the corner of my room.
I sat on my bed and took my boots off.
I laid down and started dozing off , forgetting he was there.
1:28 am ...
I woke up and seen Akair sleep in the chair.
I stood up and tapped him awake.
He woke up.
"Akair , take your pants off and you can lay in my bed." I said still drunk as fuck.
He was still half sleep but heard what I said.
He stood up and did what I said.
He climbed in my bed right after me.
I ended up falling asleep again.
The next morning .. 10:25 am.
I woke up with the wildest headache.
Akair was still sleep.
I got up and went to the bathroom.
Valoure ran to me from the kitchen where my mother was a jumped into my arms.
"Good morning pook." I said , tiredly.
"Good morning dad .." He said in his raspy, morning voice.
"You ate yet?" I asked him.
"Yea , grandma made you a plate. Can we brush our teeth?" He asked.
"Of course pook." I said.
We walked to the bathroom and grabbed our toothbrushes.
We both started brushing our teeth.
We finished and gargled listerine.
We wiped our mouths and walked to the kitchen.
I grabbed my plate and sat at the kitchen table.
"You ain't gon invite your lil friend in there to eat?" My momma asked.
"He still sleep .. and momma don't think that me and this boy fuck-" I stopped , remembering that Valoure was in the kitchen and could hear me.
"Um babyboy , go get in the tub. You gon run errands with grandma today." My mom said , getting him out the kitchen.
"Ok nana!" Valoure said , running to the bathroom.
"Like I was saying .. please don't think me and that boy is fucking. He's just a friend." I said.
"Just a friend? You sleep and cuddle in the bed with all your friends?" She asked.
"Cuddle?!" I asked.
"Yea .. me and pook went in there to see if you was up and that boy arms was wrapped around you like a pig wrapped in a blanket." My momma said.
"We were drunk and he's just a friend like I said." I said again.
"Friend my ass .. I think you do need to move on tho. It's been almost 7 years. Vade's been gone seven years baby. I just feel like you need someone new-"
"Can we just drop this? I don't wanna talk about it." I said.
"But I just think you need some romantic love-"
"Ma just drop it .."
"Baby please just listen-"
"JUST DROP IT MA DAMN!" I snapped , jumping up from the table.
I went to my room and closed the door.
I sat in the chair and put my head in my hands.
I cried cause all I could think about was never hearing Vade's voice again.
I started sobbing and couldn't stop.
I guess Akair heard me and woke up.
He got up and walked over to me.
He kneeled down and hugged me.
