[[Y/n's POV]]

Levi had told us everything the woman said.

The man belonged to a group of people who went rampant over the taxes they had to pay to keep the Scouts fed, resorting to stealing goods and selling them for more money. Eventually, however, they grew greedy and didn't want to waste any more coins on something that didn't benefit them, so they ended up plotting a heist against the Scouts. This meant they needed to retrieve and sell valuable goods to attain weapons in order to stand a chance.
When it comes to the amulets and cloaks, it's just a stupid thing they decided to do to make themselves appear more authoritive.

I sat in the grass of the field, Levi carving a little piece of wood with a knife infront of me. I watched as he shaved off the thick skin of the wood, shaping it into art.

We were planning on heading back down to the shop as soon as the sun completely arose. The man would return to claim the rest of the promised goods, the weapons. This meant we could ambush them quickly before they devised how they would charge for our headquarters.

Hange shouted from ahead, "Let's go!"

I stood, Levi too. Our feet moved in sync as we raced down the hill, forming a line as we all took shelter behind a large circle of trees, peeking out from the bushes and watching.

Five men came up to the front of the shop. I recognized the man from last night, who went up and knocked loudly on the wobbling door. It opened, and they all stepped inside. All but one, who stood guard outside with a shotgun. He studied the area around him, clearly standing on alert.

"We have to take him out before he can signal to the others," I said to Levi and Hange, who locked their sights on him and nodded firmly. Hange took on the role of eliminating the threat, noiselessly sprinting in front of the man who drew his gun with shock in his eyes. She landed a direct blow with her fist against his face, knocking him into a heavy sleep. He dropped the gun, and she placed her foot on his back to keep him down incase he stirred. She sent over a nod, Levi and I running up to an open window. He held out his hands that were locked together, showing he was going to give me a boost. I gave a thankful smile and placed my foot on his palms as he threw me up into the window. I grabbed his hand once I was securely inside, pulling him up.

We were crouched down behind a numerous amount of barrels, and I snuck a glance around the corner to see where the men had gone.

Once I spotted them, I saw that they were pulling weapons off a rack, the woman they were working with standing behind.

We had made a deal with her.

If she cooperated in assisting in the capture of them, we'd pay her handsomely.
I was sure Erwin would happily oblige if it meant keeping the Scouts alive.

She cast a knowing look over her shoulder, making eye contact with me. She returned to speaking with the men.

"Just so you know, those weapons there are of the finest craft. Why don't you take a look," She was distracting them, throwing them off course. Levi and I ran out from behind the barrels, sneaking over to a table. I peered over it, then pulled myself up onto it, running across and leaping onto the back of one of the men.

Levi dove for two on the right, using his leg to sweep them off their feet. I put the man I was on in a headlock, driving him back into the wall. He was trying to jam me off, but the minute I released him I wasted no time in planting a clean blow to his jaw with my fist, challenging him to a show of strength. This man was tall and brawny, but I could see the way he stumbled on his feet, unable to correctly balance his weight. I read all his movements and came to a conclusion on how to bring him down.
