I smiled at the merchant as i passed them the currency, thanking them as i grabbed the last bag for the day

"She will loooove this!"

The warmth feeling of the rice balls along with the other food errands warmth my hands from the cold dead night, the sun has already set a few hours ago for the early winter

Work had been slow during these past few months as Ancient demons had risen from their graves, destroying and spreading fear across the nations, blocking most service roads and city pathways, many civilians where either force to relocate to other remote jobs or move out completely

Even as the demons where defeated, the destruction still stayed, not even the work of a hero could minimize the assault towards the once peaceful city of Megapolis, but who am i to judge? If it meant to live another day, and see my family than nothing else matter

I sighted and wiped off sooth from my forhead while managing the baggage with one arm, almost there, just a few more blocks and stairs ahead and i will be in the arms of my belovet family, my beautiful  wife and belovet daughter

A soft blush bloomed onto my already reddened face as the cold ice iced my skin, already imagining the warming smiles i would be greeted with once i open this door-

"Pfft and so what if i did cheat? Its not any of your  buisness mom-its not like i love him anymore or anything-"

The door felt heavy to move as my hand shaked in place

"Mommy? Who is (f/n)-" the small voice of a child spoke, asking for the unknown to their mother only to be met by glaring daggers of the woman

My ears tugged down

"Why do you even car-"

"IM hoooome!"

The door slammed wide open as i lightly kicked it with my muddied boots, (w/n) rolled her eyes as some mud escaped the edges of the welcoming mat, she  hanged up the phone while rolling her eyes.

"Daddy!"

"Sweetheart! I missed you little punk! How was my pup's day at school huh? " i placed down the groceries onto the kitchen table as my daughter followed me around, telling me all about her day at school

"Oh thats great my pup! Way to learn all your major subjects!"

Bai eh giggled and nodded along "i even got a golden star Look Look!"

I smiled down at her as she showed her purple stickered school binder from the kitchen stool, her feet dangling above her average height

Humming in approval i gave the kiddo a thumbs up while storing the groceries away, ignoring the annoyed expression of my wife as she left to her room and slammed the door behind her

I glanced onto the doorway with a slight frown, perhaps she needs more time to figure things out, surely she dint really mean that right? Maybe this was just some stupid phase, a prank from the both of them to mess with me
