"I guess you finally both met each other" Diego's voices booms behind me
"Welcome back Diego " nanny greets before nudging me to do the same
does she not know that this marriage is fake?
I don't want to tell her.
so for right now, I'll swallow my pride and just act as if we are a real couple
I turn around and walk over to him and kiss him on the cheek before saying
"your back honey I've missed you"
Diego gives me a raised eyebrow with an amused look
"no soy pendeja se que su matrimonio no es real" Lucia says

"you do? so why did you nudge me?" I ask
" just because I wanted to see what you would do anyways sit down ill serve the food"
"let me help you-" I say but am cut off by a firm 'no'
Diego just chuckles and sits down in his seat as if this was normal
"she doesn't let no one help her when she is working because 'she isn't that old to need help' her words, not mine " Diego explains as I sit down across from him
I laugh
"Those are the exact words she would say when I was younger when I tried helping her"
a moment later Lucia comes in with two big plates and some jaritos
she knows me so well
once she sets everything down she asks "do you guys need anything before I leave?"
"no, but what do you mean leave?" I question
"Before I go home"
"Don't you live here?"
"oh no Diego has a separate house for me to live in just like the other maids"
a whole house?
after Lucia leaves both me and Diego eat silently
"how was your day?" I ask trying to make some small talk
"busy as always. what did you do today?"
"I spent the whole day with Lucia unpacking all my stuff. by the way, why did you hire Lucia?"
"I needed someone to help me with the house and since I trust Lucia and know her since I was little I hired her"
"well thank you if it wasn't for you id probably never have see her again"
Diego nods before changing his demeanor to serious
"We need to talk about our marriage and how it gonna work," he says
" okay let's talk then"
"Since our marriage is political and not real we both don't have to act like a couple unless it's in public. I won't get into your private life and you won't get into mine simple as that"
"Okay, that's fine what about having lovers or mistresses?" I ask
Diego's demeanor suddenly changed from serious to angry in a second.
he was so angry I thought his eyes were pitch black and his fists were shaking in anger
