About a month after the hockey puck incident, Dean and I had been getting along. The team was very shocked, always asking questions and throwing us confused glances.Every time, Dean, Fulton and I would just laugh, and Fulton would look at Dean and I with a knowing grin.
I hadn't told anyone what had happened in that hospital room. It was like a secret between Dean and I, and Fulton.
Dean and I weren't just getting along, we were getting closer, and things between us were taking a turn.
It was the hand holding and the hanging out when it was just us. It was him making me laugh to the point where I couldn't breathe. It was hugging me randomly when he just wanted some affection. It was all the little things.
It was all the big things too. It was him showing up at my house at 3 in the morning and sneaking in through my window to be there with me while I slept. It was randomly bringing me things because "it reminded him of me". It was definitely the kissing. The kissing was just the cherry on top.
Dean and I hadn't declared if we were together or not but I was okay with whatever it is we're doing now. I hadn't thought about putting on a label on whatever this thing was until the girls were a problem.
Dean had a reputation for being a huge player before whatever was happening between us. Many girls still assumed this was the case, causing some to avoid him, but also drawing others right to him.
Dean, the other ducks, and I were seated at our lunch table, most of us indulged in our own conversations. I was sat next to Dean, and Fulton was across from me. I had mine and Deans' intertwined hands in my lap. No one could've seen it.
Some blonde bitch decided it would be a good idea to come up to us and sit right in front of Dean.
"Hi! I'm Kelsey." Her voice was high and squeaky.
I rolled my eyes at her.
"Uh, Hey. Dean." He blinked at the stranger.
"I've seen you play hockey! You're like, so amazing." She twirled a stand of her hair and my grip on Deans hand tightened.
"Uh, thanks I guess." Dean sniffed, oblivious to what was happening.
"Yeah! So like, I was wondering if you'd teach me some moves sometime?" She smiled, leaning across the table.
"I guess?" Dean nodded.
"Great! I'll be at your practice then. Buh Bye." She stood up, blew Dean a kiss, and walked- or rather skipped- away.
I quickly let go of Deans hand and smacked my forehead onto the table.
"Like, so, like, Dean, like." Fulton's voice grew higher as he laughed.
"So like, Fulton shut up." Dean growled, turning to me. "Everything okay, angel?"
"Yeah. Everything is fucking great." I grunted, lifting my head up. "I'm going back to my dorm. Bye Fulton."
"Bye, Grumpy." Fulton chuckled.
I stood up rather quickly and stormed off.
"Was it something I said?" Dean asked his friend.
