Today was the day. Streber and Kevin had left early that morning before you woke up, but luckily Kevin also left a note saying why they disappeared. You had only panicked for a moment before noticing the note. They also took back the candy Kevin had lent you, which was fine. You just needed to go back and buy some candy today for Bob. Just as you were making your way to the bathroom to take a shower, you noticed something on your ring finger. It was a red string attached to a piece of roughly torn paper.
"What the..." You quickly took it off and read the paper hesitantly. "'Can't wait till 9:00. <3' . . . HE GOT INTO THE HOUSE?" You slammed it onto the bathroom counter, mad for a moment that he managed to enter your house without your knowledge, but that anger subsided. What else could you do? I mean, it was kind of flattering that he would do that. You were obsessed with him and probably invaded his privacy quite a lot during your research, so perhaps this was payback.
You took a shower, dressed your wounds from last night (thank the lucky stars they didn't get infected overnight) and got dressed in a casual autumn outfit afterwards, feeling refreshed after yesterday. After getting your phone, keys, and wallet, you double checked the locks on your front and back doors. The back door was unlocked when you found it, so you locked it again and left through the front door.
As you walked down the sidewalk towards the shopping part of town, you could swear you felt eyes on you. No matter how much you looked around, you couldn't see where that feeling was coming from. It was like an intense gaze was staring you down wherever you went. You made it to Candy Club and walked inside, waving to Kevin as you walked over to a shelf of hard candy. What candy did Bob like? He seemed to eat any candy you had given him, so you decided to get a mix of hard candy, gummy candy, and chocolate. Once you picked out your assortment you bought everything and left. Kevin seemed to be very tired, so you didn't want to stay and bother him.
The same burning feeling of someone watching you followed you home, you could hardly stand it. When the feeling got more intense at times, you had the urge to leap into a bush or hide behind something to make it go away. Was it Bob that was following you? How could you tell, you couldn't see him anywhere. Halfway to the neighborhood you felt your stomach growl... you had forgotten to get breakfast. You were farther away from home than you were from town and your legs were killing you. Oh well, it would hurt less to just find a cafe to eat at and rest than go home and eat some toast. You turned around and started back towards town, feeling a more intense wave of paranoia when you first backtracked to town. It subsided soon enough once more stores came into view.
You found an empty looking cafe and checked their schedule; it had opened around 30 minutes before you arrived. You walked inside the charming, cozy rustic styled cafe and heard a small bell chime to announce your presence. The cashier behind the counter flanking the door looked over at you as she set down a stack of cups to the left of the register next to a glass case full of freshly baked treats and pastries. You stepped further inside, noticing the empty tables lined up on either sides of the cafe, forming a clear runway to the front counter.
"Good morning! Take your time looking at the menu, ring the bell once you've made up your mind, I'll just be in the back!" She greeted in a northern accent, pressing the round desk bell once before taking her stack of cups through the doorway connecting the cafe to the kitchen. You murmured in understanding, feeling too nervous to talk at the moment. You heard the door jingle ring behind you but payed no attention to it, staring up at the rectangle menus on the wall behind the counter. There were so many options, but there was a chalk board sitting on the register stating the breakfast special: strawberry strudels topped with vanilla icing. That sentence made your mouth water, a strawberry strudel sounded like a perfect meal to start the day. You pulled your wallet out of your pocket and took out your credit card, looking back to the menu for what flavors of coffee they had. Nothing caught your attention, so you decided on some simple chocolate milk. You tapped your hand on the desk bell, listening to it's sharp chime echo through the cafe.
