Boom. New art book cover. Yay.
I'm glad it's my actual art now. I used one of the only art pieces I don't hate right now.
I've been struggling with my style lately. A lot of you have probably heard me say that by now but I want a proper rant.
I wish I could draw the same on my phone as I can on paper. I like That style so much more and the lines look so much better. But I love the shading and backgrounds I can do on digital so it's frustrating.
And my style sucks too! I don't like how I draw muzzles, paws, fur, necks, poses, expressions, ears, OR ANYTHING. Why does it look so bad?
I drew a little cat yesterday with a reference pic. I really like how it came out.
He looks super cute, and I love the style. I want to draw fur like this all the time.
So why can't I for crying out loud.
I like chibi art. But not for me. I don't want to have a chibi style. And I don't like how similar my style is to that. Kinda. Idk how else to explain it.
You know, when everything is round and kinda cartoony. I like leaner cartoony. Angles and details and expressive poses. Not just cute and squishy.
One of my favourite artists is graypillow, and they draw the most expressive cats I have ever seen.
Seriously, go look up their art. It's amazing. The poses and the fur and the expressions and the anatomy are all SO GOOD AND I WANT TO DRAW LIKE THAT.
All this about my style has also given me the biggest art block that I haven't been able to do more than tracing for over a week. I hate it.
Nothing looks good! Nothing is interesting!
I have no idea how to fix this. Nothing helps. Nothing's satisfying.
Sorry about the rant, here's a penguin picture for your time.
