After thousands of requests Vijaya finally gained the permission to take Rukmini out from the palace for a while.
Both the cousins were extremely happy.
" Cover your face until we reach that place" Vijaya said handing her a simple head veil.
" Why so?" She asked.
" On way if Annaji spots any of us then you yourself imagine what happens further " Vijaya said covering his half face.
" Correct correct " Rukmini grinned covering her face properly.
" But where are we going?" She asked her brother.
" your favourite Kite festival " Vijaya giggled tucking the bag of gold coins to his waist.
" Today is Kite festival! I forgot actually. You keep coins for yourself Viji I shall take mine" Rukmini said.
" Let it be Akka, since when our things became diffrent " He giggled holding her hand.
" Be careful.... No gaurds are coming with you " Saraswati warned them once again.
" Don't worry Attige " They both said in unison and walked out.
Walking through the streets of her own Kingdom, Rukmini felt extremely elated.
" Viji our subjects won't recognise me " Rukmini giggled.
" For God's sake don't call me Viji, currently my name is Bhadra " Vijaya huffed.
" Bhadra I want it " Rukmini said pointing at the bangle
" Here you started your business of completely draining my pocket" Vijaya said with fake anger.
" Aiyoo, you shouldn't deny when a girl asks for bangles. I can give it for free if you wish. " the storekeeper's wife said with a smile.
" Nothing like that Thayi (mother) , Akka spends all the time here itself " Vijaya huffed.
Rukmini sat to select the bangles.
" What's your name Veera? " The shopkeeper asked Vijaya looking at the Katari clinging to his waist band.
" Bhadra " Vijaya lied.
Everyone in the Kingdom knew Prince Vijaya who keeps roaming around always. He didn't wanted someone recognise him now and give unwanted respect which may spoil Rukmini's visit to Kite Festival.
" So this is your sister. What's your name Amma?" The woman asked.
" R..er... Ratnavati " Vijaya replied.
" She is a bit shy type " He gave a sheepish smile.
" Obviously seems like newly married girl. She will feel shy na" The woman giggled.
" Where is your husband dear?" She asked.
Rukmini felt nervous all of a sudden. She pinched Vijaya.
" Bhava is a merchant you know. He is off for his voyage " Vijaya said.
" None can beat him in knitting words " Rukmini thought for herself.
Vijaya payed four gold coins to the storekeeper in exchange of 2 sets of bangles.
" Swarna mudrika!" The couple gasped.
" No Veera, the bangles costs six Rajata Mudrika that's all " Storekeeper said.
" That's for our happiness sir. Keep it we had a good time with you " Vijaya smiled and took away Rukmini.
" Akka until we return from festival you should not ask for anything. I shall buy you anything while returning" Vijaya said strictly. Rukmini nodded.
