A bright light washed over me.

"Good morning," I heard my dad say.

I yawned. "Morning already?" Dad laughed as he started preparing breakfast. I looked down at myself. Huh?! I didn't even change my clothes yesterday! I leaped off the couch and I sprinted upstairs. When I opened the door to my bedroom, I saw Yukito stir from his sleep.

"H...huh...?" he mumbled. "Oh, Touya. Good morning." As he got out of bed, realization flashed across his face.

"What?" I asked.

"Did I fall asleep on your bed?" Yukito gasped.

I nodded. "It's no big deal, though. I just slept on the couch downstairs. I didn't want to, like... make you feel uncomfortable, or whatever..."

"Oh," said Yukito. "Oh! I didn't even change out of my school clothes! I'd better head to my house to get another uniform."

"Yeah, okay. See you later."

"Bye!" chirped Yukito. He gave my arm a tiny squeeze as he exited my room, and he closed the door behind him. I stood still for a few moments. I sighed. Why Yukito, of all people...?

"I'm so messed up..." I groaned as I shoved my face into my hands. After I finished my moping, I changed out of the uniform from the day before, and I put a new one on. When I got downstairs after I did my routine in the bathroom, I saw Dad smiling at me.

"What?" I asked.

Dad chuckled. "Oh, nothing." He turned back to what he was doing and left me hanging in confusion.

"Dad, I'm going to leave early today. Yuki and I have cleaning duty," I said.

"Alright," my dad smiled. "Have a nice day."

"You too," I called as I put on my shoes, and I walked out the door.

Yukito wasn't at the spot where we usually met, so I walked to his house. When I got there, I rang his doorbell.

"Hold on, I'll be right there!" I heard Yukito shout. A few seconds later, he opened the door.

"Sorry I'm a bit late, it took a while for me to get ready," Yukito said.

I shook my head. "Don't apologize, it's fine. Are you ready to leave?"

"Yes," Yukito nodded. "I suppose we'll walk again today, since our bikes are still being fixed?"

"Yeah."

"Alright, then! Let's go! We don't want to be late for cleaning duty," Yukito winked. He stepped out of his house after grabbing his backpack, and the two of us headed to school.

When we entered our classroom, no one else was there. Just us two, I thought to myself. Maybe I should tell him...?

"Touya," said Yukito, breaking me from my thoughts. "Did you hear what I was saying?"

"Sorry, no. I was zoned out."
