Muzan couldn't because of his job so Tanjiro and Nezuko moved in on their own and you know the rest. Now Muzan is where the boys are since they fired him from his job because there was a cut and he had to leave because he moved in with the boys hoping to get a job soon so he can continue living with the boys since he misses them a lot.
