"You make it hard to love you sometimes when you do things like this."

Those were the words to break you. The words to make you stop in your tracks altogether and stare at him in awe. The words that halted every insult that had been flying out in the middle of your living room.

He didn't realize the words had as much impact on you as they did. He just wanted the argument to end. And what better way than to hit you where it hurt?

It was only when the silence had filled the air that he looked at you. Your entire body language had changed from confident to cowering in a matter of seconds, eyes darting the floor in confusion. His words played like a record in your head: the intonations, the tone, the body language.

In your eyes, those words were said as if he'd been holding it in for longer than he'd like to admit.

Time slowed with each passing second as he continued to look at you. He wanted to reach out for you, hold you. He didn't mean that and he knows he'll never mean that. No matter how hard things got, he would always, always love you.

But you'll never know that, not now, will you?

Now, no matter how hard he'd try to make up for this, there would inevitably be the nagging voice in your mind saying that he didn't mean it. But he also knows that there would be a nagging voice in his mind if he didn't try. He needed you to know. So as he watched you silently turn your head to look at your coat at the door, he took a step towards you.

"I- I didn't mean that."

"Didn't you though?" You sounded defeated, tired from the fighting you had done for hours about god knows what.

"I promise you, I didn't." It took every atom in his body to make his voice sound unwavering, but he felt exactly the opposite. "I know that was fucked up to say, I'm sorry. I didn't mean that at all."

"That hurt a lot, Wooyoung." You slid down against the wall behind you onto the floor. "I know you didn't mean that, but it hurt."

You rarely called him by his first name like that, even rarer in anger. This was your first fight, after all. But after the disaster that had just occurred, Wooyoung intended to never let it get that bad again.

"I'll make it up to you, I promise. I'll do anything you want me to and more. Just please don't leave." He fell to the ground in front of you, looking from you to the ground. You watched as he cowered before you, much like you had just moments ago.

"I'm sure you will, baby. But for right now, let's just stop fighting okay? I don't even remember what we were fighting about anymore, so that's never a good sign."

"Yeah- yeah, I don't remember either." He looked back up at you and gently raised his hand to rest on your cheek. He was very reluctant as he moved, intending to not make you afraid or pull away from him, but grabbed his hand. You intertwined your fingers with him before kissing the back of his hand.

The kiss lasts for a few seconds before you pull away and stand up. His eyes widen as he sees you walk away. Before he can say anything though, you make your intentions clear.

"I'm not going to leave okay. But I just- I just need the night to think, if that's okay? I can sleep on the couch, I don't mi-"

"No, no. I can't let you do that, please. It's the least I can do. You can go upstairs."

Part of you wanted to resist giving the couch to him, but with all the energy inside you being drained out over the best hours, you were just about ready to collapse. So all you do is give a simple nod and mutter that you'll get a pillow and blanket for him.
