Thace x Reader {Temporarily Discontinued}

When your period visits

Thace hurried back to his habsuite as quickly as he could while carrying a bottle of water and a box/package of (F/s), not caring if anyone gave him weird looks. He and (Y/n) hadn't even been living at the main Blade of Marmora headquarters for a week and her monthly period came almost unexpectedly. Pads/tampons weren't exactly an item the Blades had stored in their supplies room, so (Y/n) was stuck wearing a makeshift pad made out of tp until the second day when Keith brought a bag of pads from the castle of lions seeing as pads were the only thing available at the time. Ulaz provided (Y/n) with the right dose of painkillers to make her cramps go away while Thace took care of her; being on leave finally gave him the opportunity to properly take care of her the way he wanted to for so many years. Thace made his bed extra comfortable by putting more fluffy blankets on it and he managed to get some of (Y/n's) favorite snack since she was craving it so badly.

"How are you feeling?" Thace quietly asked (Y/n) after he entered his habsuite and walked to his bedroom, kneeling next to his bed when he saw her looking up at him.

"I feel like scrap." (Y/n) mumbled when she made eye contact with her friend, feeling completely miserable while she laid amongst the many blankets he gave her.

"Then I think you'll enjoy what I brought for you." Thace responded proudly, showing her the box/package of (F/s) he managed to get.

"(F/s)? How did you manage to find it all the way out here?" (Y/n) queried when she perked up, almost too stunned to speak; Thace found her ultimate favorite snack even though they were literally in the middle of nowhere.

"I have my ways." Thace hinted suggestively, feeling proud of himself for surprising (Y/n) with her favorite snack; it was actually fairly easy to get snacks from almost any planet at a certain store he knew about.

"Thank you so much!" (Y/n) thanked him with excitement when he gave her the box/package, quickly opening it before she started chowing down; finally eating (F/s) after going without it for so long practically made her taste buds dance.

Thace sat on the edge of his bed and watched her eat, enjoying the satisfaction of being able to provide for (Y/n) in her time of need. He'd done so much for her over the years and finally seeing her free was one of the best feelings in the world; he couldn't deny that he had a crush on (Y/n) but he was afraid to confess his romantic feelings to her. While (Y/n) happily ate her favorite snack she couldn't help but wonder exactly how Thace found it; in all reality she was amazed he remembered what her favorite snack was because she'd told him what it was long ago. She decided not to question where the (F/s) came from and focussed on enjoying it instead, savoring its sweet/salty flavor with each bite. (Y/n) ate through about half of the box/package before she stopped eating so that she could save the rest for later seeing as it wasn't every day she got to enjoy eating it.

"Um… Can we-" (Y/n) began to ask after she put her (F/s) on the nightstand, speaking in a shy tone until she was interrupted by Thace.

"Yes." Thace answered before (Y/n) could finish her sentence, already knowing exactly what she wanted to do with him; he laid on the bed when she scooted over and let the young woman cuddle up to him.

"Thanks. I- I really like it when we get to cuddle." (Y/n) stuttered, her voice barely audible while she spoke; she couldn't help it though, she just really loved cuddling with the attractive galran man.

"I know, I enjoy it too." Thace spoke quietly while blushing, thankful that his fur hid his blush; he wasn't afraid to admit he loved cuddling with her.

(Y/n) suddenly felt flustered and blushed; she loved all the cuddling she got to do with Thace, but having him so close during her period made her feel strange in a good way. She had spent years with him, although back then she never got to actually cuddle with him and now that she could (Y/n) couldn't help but kind of wish she could kiss him. Thace purred softly and gently rubbed (Y/n's) back while allowing himself to be vulnerable around her, enjoying the feeling of having her smaller form pressed against his. It wasn't long before they began taking a nap together, (Y/n) falling asleep first followed by Thace. He had never spent the full amount of time with (Y/n) during her menstrual cycle so getting the chance to do so was enjoyable and it gave him the chance to indulge himself on the instinct to protect her.

While (Y/n) sat at the table nearest to the door in the cafeteria she patiently waited for Thace to return with lunch for both of them. Her period was almost done and she was feeling better, but she was still nervous around the others and often felt anxious when she was around them. The other Blades knew to give the young woman her space because they knew about her past but also because they thought Thace was courting her or something. Regris was on his way to the food goo machine when he got a whiff of blood and stopped, looking directly at (Y/n) when he realized the blood scent was coming from her. He wanted to know what was going on and decided to sit down across from her; (Y/n) looked up and felt nervous when she saw Regris sit across from her.

"U-um… Hi?" (Y/n) anxiously asked the young Blade, her gaze meeting his while her heart raced within her chest; he wasn't wearing his mask which meant she could see his face.

"You smell of blood. Why?" Regris asked with curiosity while looking down at her, his nostrils flaring when her pheromones spiked.

"I'm on my period." (Y/n) deadpanned after looking up at him, unsure of how to respond to the young male's question about why she smelled like blood; she still thought it was freaky how galra could smell her period.

Regris was taken aback by her answer; he didn't know what a period was nor did he know how it made her bleed. He had never encountered a species that bled as part of their reproductive cycle and it baffled him. The young woman sighed before explaining a little about what she was going through and why, only feeling mildly awkward while speaking somewhat quietly; she didn't want to draw attention to herself, after all. Meanwhile, Thace was just returning to the table he and (Y/n) usually sat at when he saw Regris sitting across from her, a stunned expression etched on his face. He had a pretty good idea as to what (Y/n) told the younger male; he had the same reaction when she first told him about her period and what all it entailed. (Y/n) stopped talking when Thace sat next to her and Regris looked a little startled when the older man suddenly showed up.

"I- how?!" Regris finally asked with a shocked tone, once again looking at (Y/n) with disbelief; he could hardly believe human women bled regularly.

"It's just natural. And thank you." (Y/n) answered before she turned her attention to Thace and politely thanked him for bringing her some food goo.

"You're welcome. Do you want to join us today?" Thace replied to (Y/n) with a smile, turning his attention to Regris and asking him if he wanted to join them for lunch.

"I- Yes, I would." Regris stammered, accepting Thace's offer before he got up so that he could get himself a bowl of food goo.

(Y/n) was a little surprised that Regris was joining her and Thace for lunch; she still felt a little nervous around him, but she knew he would never harm her. It wasn't that she didn't want to have more friends but it had been just her and Thace for so long and opening up to new people was a little scary. Thace was proud of (Y/n) for coming out of her shell and interacting with his fellow Blades; she was finally healing mentally and becoming more confident. They started eating together as usual and Thace was happy that her period was almost finished which meant she could get back to her normal self. It wasn't long before Regris joined them after he got a bowl of food goo, mostly eating in silence but occasionally making light conversation with (Y/n) so that he could get to know her a little better; Thace didn't mind them talking to each other, knowing Regris wouldn't make a move on her due to already liking one of the other Blades.
