"I'll be fine for a couple of days Wrench!" I laugh as for the hundredth time he asks if he should go to Swelter Skelter and leave me here.

"I know you can handle yourself, it's just...don't you want to come with me so we can get drunk together and have filthy sex in the desert?" He teases, wrapping his arms around me and squeezing me tight.

"That sounds half terrible, just make sure you don't wander off and do something stupid." I mumble into his chest. With a nod we say our goodbyes as he leaves my apartment and goes with the rest of DecSec to some festival.

The next morning I wake to someone at my front door. Hurriedly I roll out of bed and answer it, a delivery man passes me a box of pastries and a bunch of flowers with a message;

I'm drunk and miss you so here's something nice.
-Wrench

With a smile I close the door, getting back in bed as I begin to devour the delicious sweetness of crossaints and sweet things. I smile at the roses and take a photo of them, sending to it Wrench with a thank you.

Afterwards I decide I want to take a few photos since the sky looks pretty today agaisnt the San Francisco city. So I dress and get ready before heading out. Within minutes I receive a text from Wrench.

It's going to rain, you need a coat on before you end up catching a cold.

I sigh and look up a the nearest camera, shaking my head as I continue my walk, ignoring Wrench's warning. Minutes later the sky opens up and a storm rolls in, thunder booms before it absolutely rains cats and dogs.

I run towards my favourite book shop, hoping to avoid the rain and grab some new reading material. I scan the shelves, spending about an hour stacking up books I want to get. When I take them to the cashier the woman scans them, moments before my phone is close enough to pay, the woman smiles and says "That's all put through."

Seriously Wrench!

I smile, gritting my teeth before grabbing the bag of books and heading back out

I smile, gritting my teeth before grabbing the bag of books and heading back out. The rain is light enough now so I don't end up looking like a drenched rat.

I send a message to Wrench;

Can you stop being so stalkerish, I thought you were supposed to be partying?

I begin putting my books on my shelves when I receive a text back from him.

Stalker who? I just happened to check up on you and figured you deserve some retail therapy since I'm having a lot of fun too.

Becuase I am.

Having fun that is.

Okay, maybe not, I'm coming home soon.

I smile at my phone and shake my head, before grabbing a blanket and settling on the sofa to read for a while....

I vaguely hear the sound of my front door open and close, and footsteps walk towards me. My eyes feel to heavy to open properly but luckily I recognise the scent of Wrench. I feel my book gently pulled off of my chest before strong arms pick me up.

I squint my eyes open and see Wrench smiling down at me. "You're back, wait, what time is it?" I mumble, stifling a yawn.

"About 2 in the morning." He chuckles as my eyes widen. I remember reading my whole book then deciding to rest my eyes for like five minutes...

"Did you have fun?" I whisper as he places me on my bed, pulling my clothes off as I stretch my arms in the air to help.

He shrugs, "Meh, it was just a lot of sand and music, I'm glad you had fun though." He smirks, kissing the top of my head as I pull him down next to me.

He undresses and slides in next to me, pulling me into his warmth as I go back to sleep.
