They Will Never Change

CLARY'S P.O.V

I was walking home after the club had ended for the day I was feeling pretty good about things my plan to make this year one of my best at this school was so far all going according to plan.

"I'm back," I say opening the door to my house.

"Welcome back have a nice day," Jackie said.

"Yeah my club is finally up and running and on the first day we get two new members and they are the most adorable couple I have ever seen," I say knowing Jackie will get my drift.

"That's wonderful are you going to come down and see your mum and dad when they get here for their visit," Jackie said.

"Only if it means I can kick them in the face, anyway they are coming to see you so I don't have to be part of it," I said.

"What if they changed," Jackie said.

"I highly doubt it," I said before heading off to my room.

I went into my room dumbed my bag on the floor closed the door hopped on my bed picked up my Nintendo Switch Light and fired up Skyrim and played for a few hours before deciding it was time to get my homework out of the way. I heard the sound of my dad come home but he wasn't alone I got up and sat on the stairs out of view to listen in on their conversation I did hate my birth parents, but they were my birth parents so I did hope they would one day change.

"Good afternoon Mr and Miss Henwood," My mother said I took Jackie and Melvin's name for a reason.

"Good afternoon," Jackie said.

"Will our daughter be joining us?" My dad asked.

"CLARY Is not yours anymore and I doubt she will be joining us," Melvin said the way he said my name made me smile.

"Am I right in assuming that she is still having filthy thoughts about women her age?" My mother said with disgust and I now felt angry.

Just as I thought they haven't changed.

"Clary is helping those who have gone through what she has gone through or worse by creating a safe space at her school where they can come and be themselves," Jackie said.

"I see is it possible for us to speak with her," My father said.

"If she wants to," Jackie said I got up and headed back up to my room and Melvin came in a few moments later.

"Your birth parents would like to talk to you," Melvin said.

"Fine," I said getting up.

"Clary it's good to see you," My mother said as I sat next to Jackie on the other side of the table to her.

"Is it, the only way I see this being good is if you open your damn eyes and see that there is nothing wrong with me or the way I feel towards other girls my age," I said shooting her a death glare.

She says nothing neither of them says anything and I get up to leave and they ask me to stay and I turn round and yell

"NO, IF YOU WANT TO TALK THEN YOU HAVE TO CHANGE BUT I DON'T THINK YOU EVER WILL SO WHEN WE TALK YOU WILL HAVE A DIFFERENT OUTLOOK ON THE WORLD SO DON'T COME BACK UNTIL THAT HAPPENS... GOT IT" I yelled and Melvin nodded approvingly.

I head back upstairs and slammed my door to drive home the message I needed a distraction so I called up Zoey and asked if she had any plans for tonight.

Zoey: Let me guess your real parents came for a visit.

Me: Yeah :(.

Zoey: Sorry but given the fact that it is Monday none of us has anything planned but I could come over and keep you company ;).

Me: That might help.

Zoey: Great see you soon.

Me: :).

Zoey arrived about an hour later and as I went to hug her at the front door I could feel the anger of my parents as they watched I wasn't with Zoey but they were aware of the feelings I once had for her. I took her up to my room so we could talk in private and to rub into my parent's faces that I was able to have girls over whenever I wanted after they found out it was a boy or no one.

"Your real parents were giving me some seriously bad looks," Zoey said.

"Yeah proving my point that they will never change and so from here on out, I don't know them as far as we and the others are concerned I have no relation to them," I said.

"Well the others will support your decision but are you sure," Zoey said as she took my hands in hers.

"They are at the centre of one of the darkest chapters of my life doing this would be a way of locking that chapter away," I said.

"I guess that makes sense," Zoey said.

"Exactly," I said.

The two of us talk until my parents leave and then an hour later Zoey leaves and I make sure she got home safely later Jackie called me down for dinner she had made my favourite after the shit visit I had. After dinner, I went back to my room spent a few hours on Netflix before heading for bed I took a shower and put on some PJs and lay down and let the exhaustion take over. I woke up the next day to Jackie shaking me gently like a mother should, I opened my eyes and stretched my arms before making her leave the room so I can take a shower. I got to school and went to the club room and everyone from yesterday was there waiting I let them all in and we all talked we found out the two girls names. We found out that the white-haired girl was called Aria and her girlfriend was called Emma they had been together for a full 6 months and Emma had saved Aria after she was verbally abused by her dad.

"Okay, well can I talk to the inner circle for a second Zoey knows so she can keep the new member's company," I said and William, Liam Jo Jacob who was now back and Oliver and Fath came over to me.

"So those of you know about my mum and dad they came to see my mum and dad last night and well I made a decision that as far we are concerned they are no longer related to me and I don't know them got it," I said and they all nodded.

"Good now we should enjoy the rest of this time before the classes of the day begin once again," I said and they all smiled and walked over to the centre of the room.
