Best Date Ever

CLARY'S P.O.V

I got home and had to begin preparation for my date with Alex right away I had to do all the planning and get all the equipment before setting it up I would set everything up the day before. I also had a few trial runs to make sure it all worked my mum said that I needed to check the weather for Saturday and my response was doing it daily in case anything changed. It took me three hours and a half to find everything but once I had it come out once ever I warmed up the fans and gave it all a trial run it all worked perfectly considering we hadn't used any of it in five years.

"Clary a friend of yours is here" My mum called from downstairs.

"I'll be right down," I said back.

I got down to see Jo there and she had a big smile on her face which was unusual for her when she saw me, my mother left us alone and then Jo enveloped me in a hug.

"Thank you thank you so much," Jo said hugging me.

"What for," I said.

"For kicking my dad's ass," Jo said smiling so I guess there was no love lost.

"What happened," I said.

"I got home and he didn't even look at me I called out to him and he didn't even respond," Jo said.

"Are things better?" I said.

"Best they have ever been but," Jo said looking down.

"But what," I said.

"But it can't last right this is a short-term solution right," Jo said.

"Yes, but we are working the long term as well so don't worry we got you," I said.

"Thanks," Jo said.

"Now that that is out of the way wanna help me plan my date with Alex," I said and she nodded.

Saturday had finally rolled around and I was in my room getting dressed I had planned to take Alex to a few places and end it at my place in one of the most magical ways possible. I pulled on my clothes and headed for the door I was picking Alex up in ten minutes it was a hot sunny day perfect for what I had planned Alex was going to love it. I got in the car and my mum came and I rolled down the window since she had that wanna talk to you look on her face.

"Yeah," I said.

"Just don't crash," My mum said and I pulled out and sped off down the road.

"Hey, there cutie," I said as I pulled up to her house she was waiting outside.

"Hi," she said with a small laugh.

"Hop-in dates about to start," I said and Alex laughed even more.

As Alex got in I saw her dad in the window of her house he took one look at me smiled and then went back to whatever he was doing before I arrived. I gave Alex control of the radio but instead, she plugged her phone in and played her Spotify which I was surprised by as whatever playlists she was playing was almost identical to my general playlist. I drove for a little bit more before pulling into an empty beach parking lot and Alex smiled realising where we were.

"The beach," Alex said.

"Not just that take a look at the stuff in the trunk," I said getting out of the car.

"No fucking way are you serious this is great," Alex said as she saw my supplies I had planned a picnic on the beach.

"How about you go find us a spot and I'll gather everything," I said wrapping my arms around her and resting my chin on her shoulder.

"Okay," Alex said excitedly I released her and she ran off.

I grabbed all the stuff and carried it up the hill that stopped you from seeing the beach until you got over it which was why I liked this beach so much I got over and looked at the beach. The whole place was empty which surprised me but ultimately made me happy that we had the whole place to ourselves for this kick-ass date I had planned. I set down the stuff where Alex was standing which gave us a gorgeous view and the rising sun hit the crystal clear water perfectly.

"This is amazing," Alex said laying on the blanket I lay down.

"Glad you like it but this isn't all I have planned," I said.

"So there's more," Alex said.

"You'll just have to wait and see," I said handing her a sandwich.

"Hey you should have said we were going to the beach I would have put my swimsuit on under my clothes," Alex said as he took a bite.

"Naaa I may like the beach but I am not a huge fan of going in the water so I prefer just sitting here next to the most beautiful girl in the world," I said and she snuggled up to me.

"It's beautiful here thank you for this it means so much," Alex said head on my shoulder.

"Hey anything for my girl," I said and she gave me a kiss.

"So I guess you wanna begin that now," I said as Alex kissed me.

"I do but you keep talking," Alex said and I smiled into the kiss and we both stayed with our lips together only backing for air every so often.

As the sun begins to dip I got up and pulled Alex to the car packed all the stuff up and made my way back to my place when we got there the sun was starting to set. I took her into the house placed my hands over her eyes and led her to the garden where I had set up the second to last part of my date for her when she was in place I let her see my work on the garden. When I let her see and she took a good long look at the garden she could hardly hold herself up on her own two feet she fell back into me and I held her arms as she turns to me tears in her eyes smiling.

"This...is amazing," Alex said as she pulled me into a hug.

"Go get comfy," I said kissing her.

The two of us lay down and Alex hugged my waist the whole time I had set up a projector and I was playing a bunch of Disney movies and we lay there in complete bliss but I was nowhere near done. It was a warm night so we just stayed there under the covers I set up watching movies well into the night and then as the finale moves came to a close I turned to Alex.

"Hey so I have one last part of this date," I said.

"With all that has happened I don't think I can handle anymore," Alex said.

"Don't worry it's a question one simple question," I said.

"Okay," Alex said.

"Alex will you be my girlfriend," I said my eyes locked on hers.

"What took you so long to ask," Alex said and pulled me in for a kiss.
