I Said Something Bad Today by Jay Murray

I said something bad today
The voices in my head were laughing and somewhere in the mayhem
I forgot that no one else can hear the monsters or see my true intentions
I said something bad today
Somewhere on the wavelength between joke and not funny
I took a wrong turn
And now I'm not on the same page
In fact I'm several chapters behind, stumbling through the hills and valleys and peaks of words and quotations and full stops.
The reader crashes my book closed, shouts into the void
You stupid boy
Why did you say that
But I gape at them, answerless
I said something bad today
