We're too hysterical, when we sob until we're choking and heaving
When we scream, we're too angry, aggressive even
When we speak calmly and hide emotions, we're disrespectful, too much attitude
When we shut down completely and stay silent, we're far too ignorant and rude.
When we react to your behaviour, that in the real world would get us jumped
We're being disrespectful by having boundaries, and you question why we're stumpedYou invade our personal space on the daily, with the reminder that you CAN take our rights away
Then you wonder why we cut you off and hide behind our screens every single day?
Because you remind us that we're now 18, and so we are adults, too
But, you hold us to the same standards, that you struggled to meet at 32.
You tell us you are in control, when we treat you with the respect you display
Why can't we storm away and shout you down, if that's what you've shown us is okay?
