Elle
My heart was still racing as I close the door behind me and make my way down the stairs. Once I climb into Drew's car I take a few deep breaths, and press a smile onto my lips, trying to hide the fact that I was not feeling too good.
"Well, hello there, you seem to be in a good mood." Drew's voice echoes through the car, as he starts up the engine and leaves the apartment grounds.
I can't help but start laughing, knowing this couldn't be further from the truth.
"What's so funny?"
Once my laughing subsides, I pull myself together, trying to describe the situation to him, as cryptic as possible. "It's actually quite the opposite. Things couldn't be worse."
"What's wrong, Elle?" Drew's eyes shoot over to me, worry clearly visible in them.
I sigh, thinking about how things were left between Ben and me. Even though Drew always tells me that I could talk to him, I didn't particularly feel like it right now. I honestly just wanted to forget tonight, not thinking about the conversation I had to have with Ben tomorrow.
"I tell you another time, okay? Tonight, I just want to forget and have fun." Drew nodded, although I couldn't oversee the worried look on his face.
"Okay let's have some fun then." His hand reaches behind him, pulling something from the backseat and handing it to me.
An expensive bottle of Tequila lands in my hands, immediately putting a smile on my lips. Maybe alcohol wasn't the right method to forget about everything that's been happening, but it sure was the easiest.
I open up the bottle, taking one sip to try it first. The liquor is running down my throat, immediately making me feel a hundred times better. I take a few more sips, until I feel Drew's hand latch onto my mine, pulling the bottle away from my thirsty mouth.
"Hey!" I exclaim, shooting him a cranky look, but all he does is laugh at me.
"Jeez, Elle you don't have to drown in Liquor before we even get there."
I roll my eyes at him but close up the bottle, placing it between my feet. After a few minutes of silent driving, I turn up the radio, noticing the comfortable warmth now flowing through my body, the alcohol finally laying its calming effect on me. The drive seems to go quicker than usual, as we turn off into the now familiar road.
We pull up in front of Harry's place and I notice Drew's eyes moving from his phone to the big gate a few times, probably feeling the same way I did when I first pulled up here.
"We're right here," I confirm and his eyes swing over to me, the confusion clearly noticeable. He quickly parks his car next to a few others, indicating a few people were already there.
I get out of the car, taking a few more sips of Tequila, while Drew wasn't looking. I quickly shoot Harry a message, asking if he could open up the gate so we can come in. As it opens, Drew walks up next to me, an amused laugh leaving his mouth.
"You do realize that I brought the bottle as a gift for Harry." My mouth falls open, my eyes locking with his within seconds.
"Are you serious? Why didn't you tell me?!" I exclaim in shock, as we start walking down the long road that would lead us to his house.
"Well, I didn't think you would drink it before we get there..." His hand glides through his hair nervously, leaving a small pause as he speaks. "-But then you already opened it, so I figured you might need it a little more than he does."
