After their wedding was finished the Hayley's coronation began. She would lose her title to the French throne, but she would become Queen of England and reign by Niklaus's side. Hayley had an older brother to be the heir of France.
Two pagers came into the church, each held a pillow with a crown on it. One of the crowns was for the King and the other for the Queen. The priest picked up the King's crown and placed it on Niklaus's head. "Niklaus Mikaelson, son of the late King Ansel," the priest started. "You have already sworn your life to the crown," the priest reminded him. Niklaus nodded, "And now you will reign with Hayley, you will be a good and faithful leader," the priest continues. "A ruler of the people," the priest says. "I swear," Niklaus says. The priest turns to the second crown, "Hayley, do you reliquinish your rights to the French crown," the priest asks her. "I do," she says. "Do you swear your allegiance to England and all that it stands for," the priest asks. "I do," Hayley promises. The priest places the crown on Hayley's head. "In the interests of England and of the people, I crown you Queen of England," the priest says. He gestures for them to stand, Niklaus rises holding his hand out for Hayley to join him.
Niklaus and Hayley who were now King and Queen walked back down the aisle. When they exited the building, they got into the carriage that was waiting for them. The couple had decided to ride through the town, showing that they cared about their people.
When they arrived back at the castle, they exited the carriage and headed to the throne room. They arrived after the other royal families of Europe came. The crowd split and there was a path to their thrones. Custom says that the Queen is supposed to sit at the same time as the King. But Niklaus escorted Hayley to her throne before he sat down on his throne.
