Joshua

Abby still won't talk to me and the rumors are flying rampant at school that I am dating Anricke no matter how much I try to deny them, they have spread like wildfire.

It's lunchtime and I am heading to the cafeteria where Mikey is waiting for me, without our girls. Abby decided that she doesn't want to be anywhere near me and by virtue, Charlie will stick by her girl, which I appreciate.

As I exit the classroom, I see some guys from the soccer team in a huddle with that Jasper guy. They are giving him pats on the back for something and I don't give them a second thought because I can't even bear to look at the guy.

I grab my food and sit down at the table that Mikey has saved for us.

I am in my own world when Mikey throws a meatball at me. Unfortunately, some of the sauce is still on it and it dirties my shirt.

"What the hell Mikey!" I erupt.

"Hey man, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get you dirty. I just wanted you to get out of this funk."

"Yeah, well try having the girl of your dreams not talk to you for a week and then tell me about getting out of a funk." I throw at him.

"Huh, now we admit it heh."

"Shut up Mikey."

I get up in hopes of trying to get the sauce off my shirt.

I go to the front of the cafeteria where they sell food and look for a napkin or a wet wipe or something because I'm too lazy to go to the toilet and wash it off properly.

I find a wet wipe and while I am wiping down my shirt, I hear Abby's name. "Yeah man, I am getting laid on prom." One voice says.

"Dude, how did you even think of her anyways?" another voice says.

"Well Brad said if I want to be a part of the team officially I need to get laid and Abby is a nice girl, I know that she won't make me feel bad for still being a virgin."

"Is she really going to fall for it though?" the first voice asks.

"She has to man, I've got a lot riding on this. Besides, I have a plan B."

My face turns red.

"Oh yeah, what plan B is that man." I turn to them and ask.

"Hey Josh, didn't know you were listening to our conversation bro." one of the guys says.

"Only when I heard Abby's name," I say in a bored tone. Suddenly Mikey appears next to me. And that is the reason he is my best friend.

"What's it to you huh? Last I checked, Abby was unclaimed." Jasper says.

"What is your plan B Jasper?" I really am losing my patience now.

"It's nothing man." He answers nervously.

I quickly grab him from his seat by the collar of his shirt and repeat, "What is your plan B Jasper?" in a deadly silent tone.

He doesn't give me an answer, just one big gulp and one of his friends pipes up from the table, "you don't have to tell him jack Jasper." I start squeezing his neck and he still doesn't give me an answer.

He kicks me between my legs trying to make me let go and that does it for me, I lose my grip on him but I do punch him. At this point, all eyes are on us and I see Abby in my peripheral vision, running toward us.

"Joshua, no! Leave him alone." She cries out.

I lose track because Abby called me Joshua, she never calls me Joshua unless she's mad at me, I am in my thoughts, and he gets in a punch and splits my lip. Bugger!

"Please let him go." And then I remember where I am.

"What is your plan B?" I roar as I land a punch to his face and another to his stomach. I already suspect what his plan B is, but I want to hear from the horse's mouth.

"Plan B?" Abby repeats while looking at Jasper.

He is on the floor now with me straddling his waist and blood dripping from both our faces. I see Mr. Timbals heading our direction and I give another punch to his jaw.

"I will ask for the last time, what is your plan B?" I squeeze his neck and Abby whispers, "you're going to kill him, Josh."

"I would've made her want to be with me, okay? That is my plan B," he shouts.

"Boys, what is going on here." Mr. Timbals has finally reached us and he doesn't look too happy to be here.

"My boy here Jasper was just telling me how he plans to drug Abby at prom so that she will sleep with him."

"What?! Is that true Jasper?" Abby asks and he just closes his eyes so as not to look at anyone or because one is swollen shut, I can't be sure.

"Is that true young man?" Mr. Timbals asks.

Jasper doesn't agree nor does he deny it and Mr. Timbals summons the both of us to the principal's office. As I go, I see Abby's worried face and I feel awful that I put that look on her face. It seems like the only thing I can do nowadays is hurt her.
