the day i was born
i felt betrayed by you mother
the day you left me in a strangers arm
i felt betrayed by you mother
the first time your hand struck me
and the second and third and fourth
i felt betrayed by you
the day you took things from me
my joy, my love, my trust, my kindness
i lost faith in you mother.
everytime you raised your voice at me
everytime your hands became violent
everytime your eyes filled with hatred and disdain
and I wish so deeply for you to love me
for you to see me and still love me
i wished for love so badly
but all i got was something else
