"Hey sweetheart, oh god dotty, your eyes, are you ok my love?"
Joe asked as dianne appeared on his phone screen. She had dark black circles around her eyes and not from makeup. She had done 7 shows in a row with no break and the exhaustion  had clearly got to her. Her face had makeup smudged all over it and she was clearly breaking out, not that it made her any less pretty to joe but he couldnt help but notice. Her hair was screwed ontop of her head in a messy bun that clearly had been put up without a mirror and without a care in the world.

"I'm si-"
She covered her mouth as a cough cut her off mid sentence.

"I'm sick"
She mumbled rubbing her eyes.
Joe knew she had a developed a cold a few days ago but he didn't think it was this bad. He could tell that today, she must of taken a turn for the worst.

"you poor thing. Have you been sick?"
He asked

"No but I have a temperature and I feel dizzy, and I have hot and cold flushes and I'm on my period and I have cramps and I feel weak and tired and I've got blisters all over my feet"

"Oh dotty that sounds horrible. But you're a little fighter so you'll be ok"
He told her

"Were nearly at the hotel, about half an hour away"
She told him. The whole of the strictly pro tour cast and crew were on a coach travelling to Leeds their destination for tomorrow.

"I bet you're looking forward to that"
Joe lighthartedly joked knowing she could take it and it made her smile a little too.

"I am. I just want to get into a warm, cosy bed and just snuggle down and cry"

"Awww baby, I'm sorry you feel like this. Hopefully you're going to be ok, maybe a good night sleep will help"
His heart broke as she said she wanted to cry. It wasn't often she cried but when she did, joe knew she would absolutely break down.

"Thank you, it's just a shame you wont be there to snuggle with me"
She said as joe tried to contain his smile. Little did she know he was infact in the hotel room she was on her way to ready to surpsie her. And now he knew she was poorly, he couldn't of picked a better day. She would definitely need him.

"I know but I'll see you soon"

"I cant wait to cuddle you"
She told him

"I cant wait to cuddle you too"
He said as she yawned

"You're drifting off baby, do you want me to go so you can rest your eyes?"

"Mmhhm"
She nodded

"I'll see you when I see you dotty. I love you"
He blew a kiss through the screen

"I love you too"
She waved before hanging up

Knowing she wasnt too far away and with a co-op just opposite the hotel, joe pulled on his coat and shoes and picked up his card placing it into in pocket, ready to spoil his girlfriend who wasnt going to expect what was about to happen.

"Oh my gosh"
Dianne threw her hand over her mouth as she came into the hotel room around half an hour later seeing joe sat on the bed with lots of things she knew she needed next to him.

"Hey my love"
He stood up to hug her, wrapping his arms around her. Instantly, she buried her head into her boyfriends chest before letting a tear slowly fall down her face, sniffling trying to keep in her emotions.

"Its ok, get it out"
Joe noticed she was crying and gently stroked her hair comforting more and she broke down in her arms. For a while the couple stood in silence, the only sound that could be heard was the small cries from dianne.
Joe felt helpless. It wasnt often she was ill so he didn't really know how she was really coping. He remembered she had done something similar once before in salsa week on strictly when she was tired and nearly fainted. He had helped her and she couldnt be more thankful.
