The cold brighton breeze, swifted along the coast as the waves crashed up againts the stones layed perfectly, creating the miles of beach that went through the town.
Despite the wind, it was a nice day for the middle of december. It wasn't freezing, the coldness was bearable for a walk along the beach. Not many people were out though, the December weather being very off putting but to joe and dianne that didn't matter.Their hands connected as they wondered down the beach that had become so familiar to them since moving. It was the first time in quite a while that they had seen eachother. The busy schedules of both their lives taking over their relationship but yet they were stronger than ever.
"I feel like I havent seen you in ages"
Dianne leaned in closer to Joe's side, missing that comforting touch she had been away from for so long. She had only just gotten back from finishing that years strictly, the night before."I know...me too"
"I'm sorry I literally put all my time into strictly this year and not you, it's just..."
She began before he quickly cut her off."Dont say that. I get it, it's your job and it's very full on. Sometimes you forget we went through it together. I understand how important it is to you and that it's your main priority"
He assured her making her smile."I know but sometimes I just feel abit bad. I'm always in london training and I never come home to come and see you. Its like you dont have a girlfriend for 3 months straight and thats not fair on you"
"Its fine I dont mind. I understand what its like and it was worth it....you won"
He reminded her making the smile on her face even bigger. The past few months had been tough on her. Strictly was draining every year but this time round on her 7th series, it had taken everything out of her. The stakes were so much higher and she knew her partner had so much potential which she couldnt waste. He was young, an athlete, he could take the long hours. She felt like her life had been sucked out of her though. She knew it was worth it, she got to lift the gliterball at the end of it and she couldnt be happier but it had been exhausting."I'm so proud of you"
Joe came to press a soft kiss to her forehead and he squeezed her hand."Thank you"
She smiled gazing off into the distance as they contuined walking. It was quiet between them for a while as they walked. It was much needed before they left for Australia in the next few days. They needed some time alone, just them too. Dianne loved her family but she hadn't seen joe in what felt like forever and she wanted to spend time with him, without anyone else."Are you ok?"
Joe's hands slipped out of diannes, his arm coming to wrap around her waist, his hand resting on her hip."Yeah...I'm fine"
She said a little quiet which didn't go unnoticed by joe."Are you sure?"
He asked her again softly looking into those honey irises he loved so much."I dont know... Theres alot of things on my mind"
She admitted. Now had noticed she hadn't been her usually, bouncy self since returning home. It seemed odd to him. She had just won strictly but she didn't look happy."Do you want to talk about it?"
He asked her."I dont know...I dont really know where my heads at"
She shrugged."I'm listening if you want to talk"
He assured her. He could there there was alot going on in her head and wondered if something had been going on the past few months she had been away and she hadn't told him. He was worried but he was there for her also."I haven't really enjoyed strictly this year as much as I usually do"
She began. Joe was a little taken back. Strictly was her life. It was what she had worked towards since she was little. She put her all into it. She lived and breathed strictly.
He knew she had more to say though, so didn't question her.
