Shirts

Haerin won't stop wearing Y/n's shirts to bed, and it's becoming a problem.

No, not becoming. It is a problem, and has been since before the first time Haerin came back from her shower wearing one of Y/n's shirts.

Y/n just hadn't realized the extent of the problem until she was faced with Haerin wearing her shirt that was probably two sizes too big on her and found it surprisingly difficult to form a coherent thought.

She definitely meant to say something then, but what she ended up doing was just staring with her mouth open.

"You'll catch flies like that," Haerin commented, rubbing her hair with her towel.

"You're wearing my shirt," Y/n said.

Haerin looked down. "Oh. I didn't notice."

"You." Y/n had to swallow and start again. "You didn't notice." She was practically swimming in that shirt.

"You left it on my chair," Haerin said.

Y/n looked around their room. They both had clothes strewn around, draped on the backs of chairs and the foot of their beds. Some were on the floor.

"We really need to clean," Y/n said. "And do laundry."

"Probably, yeah," Haerin agreed, and tossed her towel haphazardly onto her chair before throwing herself onto her bed. "Good night," she said, voice muffled because her face was pressed into her pillow.

"You—aren't you going to change?" Y/n asked.

Haerin turned to face her. "No? I can't be bothered to. It's just for tonight, so... It's not a problem, is it?"

"I guess not," Y/n said.

"Right, then, good night," Haerin said, and rolled over so that her back was to Y/n.

That was the first time. The accident. But then the next night, Haerin wore one of Y/n's shirts again, and that time definitely wasn't by mistake.

"What? Wearing big shirts to sleep is comfortable! Do you not want me to?" Haerin asked, and, since Y/n hadn't been able to give a good reason for her not to, Haerin has since continued to steal Y/n's shirts for the purpose of sleeping in.

So that's how it is.

She can't just tell Haerin that the reason she's so bothered by seeing her in her shirt is because she's had a crush on her since their first year of high school. She definitely can't tell her she's been in love with her since their second year, maybe before.

Being Haerin's roommate in university was a clear mistake. But what else was she supposed to do? They're best friends—something Y/n wouldn't trade for the world—and she couldn't have just said no. She wouldn't have wanted to.

She thought she could deal with it. She's been dealing with her feelings for Haerin just fine for three years now, after all. But living with her is completely different. Haerin is just. Completely invading her space. There's no other way to put it.

Haerin steals food from her plate at lunch and dinner. She borrows Y/n's pencils and never gives them back. She goes through Y/n's planner and leaves little notes for her, silly things like, 'Don't slack on homework or we can't play!' and, 'We're halfway through the semester, you can do it!!' or even, 'I bought the cookies you like, but I see you have an essay due, so ask me for them after you're done' (but even though she said that, Haerin gave her the cookies before she finished anyway). They press together on Y/n's bed when they watch movies on her laptop. Sometimes Haerin will lounge on her bed just because, even though her own bed is just across the room.
