•in a dark hallway, seemingly the end of school for the day

Jasper's POV

'Yeah what's up!' Essence replied enthusiastically
'Oh yeah! Happy birthday' she added sounding like she just remembered something and swiftly moved and gave me a warm hug
I felt a thousand little flutters in my stomach which caused a red tint blush to appear on my face, I hugged her back.
'Oh thank you' I said as I scratched the back of my head and looked away shyly, Oh Jacob has gone I thought to myself
Jordan and Irene were right I need to act fast if I want to get Essence, I let out a weary sigh

'What do you want for your day birthday boy'
Essence asked with eager eyes..

why is she so darn cute I thought as I covered my mouth

'Uh I dunno' I trailed off again
'The hug was nice' I said without knowing

'No, silly what do you actually want?' She said trying to contain her laughter which made me feel all embarrassed

•Later that day

'Mummyyyy I'm going out! Today is my friend Jasper's birthday we're going bowling! He's boring ikr we got matching T-shirts tho' I said as I picked up my AirPods from the side stool and hung my Tsere checkered mini bag making my way to the front door
'Okay be home by 8' My mum replied from the kitchen
'TGIF' I thought aloud

'So you're going to hang out with Irene without me!'
'Jeez! Hannah!! You scared me' I said as I turned to look at Hannah that clung unto the door frame of the corridor like a horror movie spook
'......her actual best friend' she finished her sentence like nothing happened
'And so what?' I said
sighhh 'who's Jasper? Your boyfriend?' Hannah asked
'No! Why am I even answering you! Bye!' I said as I walked out of the house, I saw Irene waving at me from the passenger seat of what seemed like Jordan's SUV

'How tf?' I asked as I made myself comfortable in the back seat
'I'm 17' Jordan said looking at the rearview mirror to look me in the eyes
Hmm does that actually work? I thought to myself
'Okayyyy let's get going!' Irene said trying to lift the already ominous mood

•At Bowl's square

'My baby boyyyyy' Irene screamed as she saw Jasper at the entrance of "Bowl's square" and gave him a big hug causing him to lift her up and they both laughed away. It looked so cute I could tell that they genuinely love each other I noticed Jordan smiling too
' Happy birthday my dearest!!!' Irene said cupping Jasper's face in her palms
'Thank you' Jasper replied and gave her a short hug
'Happy birthday my gee' Jordan chipped in and handed him a properly wrapped gift 'From Us' he added
'Omyyy I love you guys!' Jasper said with a big smile that warmed our hearts
