Aizawa continued the class as normal, announcing that he'll speak with Principal Nezu during lunch break. From there, he'll give the information of when the mock battles will take place. Rimuru figured it wouldn't be that easy to just go in and fight. There are still rules to follow and codes to stand by. He still plans to be an amazing teacher. Who knew his first lesson would be mock fights again.
Rimuru could see the wheels turning in everyone's heads. The range of facial expressions could fill a picture book. Looks of curiosity, concern, excitement, worry and confidence. Right off the bat they would be tested by him. Rimuru made comments about seeing their skills during the Sports Festival. With the data collected, he can give pointers and find their strong points. He wants to make sure they are extra ready before taking off. Anything can and will happen to them while away. Strong powers are of no use without a mind that is just as strong.
Life in Tempest showed him how important it is to have a strong head on your shoulders. He lost track of the times Great Sage, Raphael now, had gotten him out of tough spots. From handling the Orc lord to her quick thinking when Milim first visited. Speaking about it will only get him so far, however. There will still be the few bad apples that ruin a batch. One, namely being Bakugo, starting right out of the gate. A young and arrogant boy made to believe he has the world thanks to his quirk.
As much as he hated doing it, he needed to show him who's incharge. High school is a completely different playground from middle school. The teachers here are heros for a reason and deserve all the respect. Rimuru could only dream of being around when Izuku and him were still in middle school. Maybe it would've changed too much? Or made a certain character change for the better? Who knows. All that can be done now is make a student more humble. Tall order for sure, yet he has had to deal with worse.
'Haaaa, I really wish I was brought in earlier. Still, this is a good excuse to re-read the manga again,' Rimuru thought, volume 5 in his hands. 'It shouldn't take long till I'm caught up to now. More is going to happen in such a short amount of time. What with that villain coming into the picture... Should I warn Iida?'
Answer: it would be best not to do so. It would make you look suspicious to students and teachers. Word has not gotten around yet. Your concern has reason, but to act so soon is no better.
'Once again you have a point. Not like I can say I have a kind of "future seeing" quirk. They'd wonder why I'd hide a quirk like that one on my list. No real reason could justify something like that be kept secret,' he thought, an uneasy look now him.
May I suggest another means of helping young Tenya Iida? Not change much of the timeliness, but make it less painful.
'How so?' he asked confused. 'Does it have to do with his older brother?'
Yes. Were you to show up in time before his brutal act, the thought of revenge on young Iida's heart would not be as strong. Still present, but he shall have to make the choice for himself to act.
'That's right! It's also a key point in the story for him, Izuku and Shoto to have character growth. Iida learning the values of having support, Izuku using his power properly and Shoto learning to hold his flames with pride. Change is good, but I can't take that away from those boys. Nice planning there, Raphael,' he smiled.
Time passed before Aizawa called out to Rimuru. He placed the volumes away in his stomach and bounced over. Nezu gave the go ahead on the mock fights. They shall take the place of his lessons tomorrow. Rimuru is free to set up the orders as he wishes. Whether it be by the order of names or who he believes needs the experience more.
