That night Maddy had invited Natalie to go bowling with them, but she declined. She was getting really worried about her mom she thought she was just leaving for a few days, but it's been weeks. She went to the police last week and they have been looked for her since.
She was waiting at home praying to God her mother walked through that door. While Natalie was home by herself Nate had drove to see Cassie. When she got in the car, she immediately went to kiss him, but he moved out of the way before she could actually kiss him.
"Look, Cass, um... I really like you. You're a good person. I was hoping we could be friends. Correct me if I'm wrong but, I'm pretty sure you feel something for me." She looked at him, "I've changed, I'm not the same person who I was when I was with Maddy. I love Natalie I'm not going to let our relationship end because of you." Nate said, Cassie looked at him with tears in her eyes.
"Yeah, but..." she trailed off smiling "It was my fault. I should've opened the door when she was there, but I didn't and now I'm lying to her." He said.
"It was my fault, too." Cassie said trying to make him feel better "It is what it is. We can never, ever speak about this. I'm so sorry." He said, Cassie let a tear slip out before she jumped out of the car and ran back inside her house.
After making sure Cassie had safely gotten into her house, Nate drove off back to his house.
She lost him. She thought she had him, but she didn't. She needed a plan. She needed Nate to notice her. She needed him see she was just as good as Natalie. She was going to do everything she could to get him to look at her.

Natalie was sitting on her couch watching a show on TV and ate her dinner when there was a knock at the door. She took a sip of her water before getting up to answer it.
When she opened the door, the police were on the other side " can I help you?" she asked "Natalie Clarke?" The officer said she nodded, Natalie had heard a lot of things, but nothing could prepare her for what the cop said next.
"I'm sorry to tell you, but we found your moms body. We believe she was murdered and someone tried to hide her body in the woods." The officer said, Natalie looked at him with tears in her eyes. She couldn't say anything. She couldn't move.
"Thank you for letting me know." She said after a second the officer nodded and turned to leave. She shut the door and sat on the floor with her back to the door and let out a sob.
After a few minutes she grabbed her keys and drove to Nate's. Marsha was the only one home. She let natalie sit in Nate's room and wait for him.
She only had to wait a good five minutes before nate walked in his room.
"Natalie?" Nate asked she looked at him and his heart broke at the sight of her. She was in sweats and her hair in a bun that was falling out. Her eyes were red and puffy, she had tears running down her face. And the bottoms of her sleeves were wet from wiping her tears so much.
"Hey, what happened?" He asked kneeling down in front of her "you know how my mom hasn't been home?" She asked he nodded rubbing her leg with his thumb
"The cops came by and they told they found her body. Some-someone killed her. And then hid her body." She said and let out another sob, Nate sat the bed beside her. She wrapped her arm around his waist and laid her head on his chest. He wrapped his right arm around her shoulder rubbing her arm while his other had went to her head to massage her scalp. He knew it would calm her down a little bit.
He let her cry. He didn't know what to say. She lost both her parents he didn't know what that was like. He didn't even know what losing one parent was like.
He was ready to tell her the truth about everything. About where he was tonight. About New Years. But seeing her like this. After what she found out tonight. He couldn't do that. Not now.
He did come clean about one thing though. Telling his dad that he knew about Jules. Cal cornered his son and started asking why Fezco did what he did. Nate didn't want to say anything because then he would have to say everything.
