Lost Love

She stands alone in fields of green,
Where once they danced and
laughed as one.
Her heart is heavy,
her eyes are keen,
For her love has fallen,
and he is gone.

She whispers his name
on the morning breeze,
And begs the stars to bring him back.
She remembers all of the joys and ease,
And longs for the moment
when they'll meet again.

She knows she'll wait an eternity,
For the day when he'll return to her.
She'll keep his memory alive,
And keep her love for him forever pure.

But as the seasons change,
and time goes by,
She'll hold onto the hope that someday,
He'll come back to her, beneath the sky,
And they'll dance together once again.
