A Christmas miracle

Chapter 8

After the game, holly got some coffee for Nick as an award and hot cocoa for her since it's the holidays.

Nick was smiling, "did you see that when that hit that puck into the bet...it was amazing"

Holly giggled, seeing Nick was getting his Christmas spirit, she was smirking at him.

Till it caught his attention that she caught him off guard.

He laughed but the en he stopped and went back to being grouchy.

"Ah it was whatever, whatever"

"Oh please i saw how you enjoyed it, it's good to see you're getting into the Christmas spirit"

"Oh shut up, the kids needed help and you weren't doing your job right"

"Still they did really good out there"

"Yeah they really did"

"You make a pretty good coach, I didn't know you like hockey"

"I don't like hockey...I used to play hockey"

No kidding...

Holly was surprised, "really? I never noticed that"

"Yeah back when I was a kid, I used to play hockey"

A flashback plays of a young Nicholas playing hockey on the ice rink.

"I was a champion, I won ever game ever, I was unstoppable"

"So why did you stopped, it sounded like you could've had a promising career"

Nicholas frowned sadly like he had a sad past he wouldn't share.

"Well one day I lost a game I realized that Christmas is just a sad holiday where all you get is disappointed, when you get that Christmas sport it distracts you and ruins you"

"That is not true Nicholas" holly placed her hand on top of his.

"Christmas is a time to help others in need, it's a time to find your Christmas spirits ever for the most grouchy people, I believe in Christmas miracles and I know you will find yours"

"You are very enthusiastic and happy go lucky" Nicholas says.

"I get that a lot" she gets up grabbing her cup and throws it in the trash.

"Well down on we got lots of more things to do before the ball"

As she walked off, Nicholas smiles, for the whole week, Nicholas's mood seemed to change.

They backed cookies for the fundraiser and Nicholas threw flour at her, they both laughed as they started to have a good fight.

Then as he shocked the snow, he gets hit in the back of the head with a snowball.

"Hey!" He grabbed his beck and he turned around to see holly and a kid hiding.

He smiles mischievously, makes a snowball and attacks them, they screamed and laughed while having a snowball fight.

Holly could see the happy smiled Nicholas had, it was warm and welcoming and it made her smiled.

Then when Michener or get some coffee he passed by the same homeless man he was rude too before.

And when the old man saw Nicholas and flinched, Nicholas felt bad and he gave the money some money.

The old man was surprised but happy, it's obvious holly was changing him.

She felt like she was finally getting to him, she sees helping hanging up the lights, murry helping him.

But as she stared at him, she couldn't help but feel something deep down inside her.

Something she haven't felt in awhile but she snapped out of it when she figured it out.
