AND THOUGH AUDREY KNEW THAT THEY WERE boundto talk about what happen at some point, the sight of wilbur at her hotel door still seemed to put her into shock.
her body visibly froze as she held the door open. she figured the conversation of what they were and what they were going to be was going to happen, but nothing prepared her for wilbur in the flesh. all of her planned out words and phrases left her brain instantly, never to be recovered because the man she hadn't talked to for a month was here.
the man was stood across from her, his left hand holding onto the cat beanie tightly, as if it were to slip away and disappear into the floorboard. he was panting slightly, his curls a mess and his face colored in emotions. he wore his green jacket, khaki pants, and his doc martens which was typical for wilbur soot. despite everything: audrey couldn't help the rose dust on her cheeks.
"hi." she swallowed, cursing her voice for shaking slightly.
"hey." wilbur replied, which sounded like all of the air in his lungs left with that word. "can i talk to you, if you have a minute?"
