She hadn't spoken to Benny since their fight and didn't want to. Mack wasn't mad about the fact that Benny sang her songs, that's what she wanted. She was mad because she felt like Benny had no problem hiding her in the shadows. She felt like Benny didn't see Mack. She's her best friend. Benny should see her, but she doesn't. she doesn't even try.
Mack loved visiting music stores. They were often the first place she would go when she was bored, sad, happy, nervous. Music stores were where she felt most at home. Especially whenever she found one of her dads albums. She felt more connected to him that way. She hadn't taled to her dad since that night when he surprised her and showed yp at one of Pat's gigs. They had both been bouncing around hotels and werent sure how to contact eachother. Mack made a mental note to try to get ahold of their manager so she could talk to him.Mack was walking through the store, perusing shelves of endless vinyl records when she spots one of her favorites. " Jazz" Queens 1978 record. She picked up and stared at her fathers face on the cover remembering when she listend to the band record the songs for the album. She smiled to herself as she remembered the fond memories.
"Queen fan?" a voice says behind her.
Mack spins around, quite startled.
"Scar! Hello. Sorry, you frightened me." Mack says in a loud voice, shook up a bit.
Scar throws her hand up, in defense.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. I come in peace." Scar responded sweetly. A little too sweetly.
"What are you doing here?" Mack asks.
"Loki gave us a few hours to do some sight-seeing. I guess you and I have the same tastes when it comes to shopping." she says, picking up a record, the Bee Gee's.
Mack thought it was a little strange that she grabbed that one, out of all the albums she could've, but decided to make a mental note of it anyway."Interesting. What's everyone else doing?" Mack asks, trying to move the conversation along.
"Chris and Sebastian went to see if they could score some booze and drugs. Shocker." she said with fake surprise in her voice before continuing...
"Flo and Pat disappeared somewhere...probably hooking up. They've been all over eachother for the past two and a half months." Scar said rolling her eyes and fake gagging.
This however was a complete surprise to Mack. Hooking up? She had no idea they were hooking up. She was so wrapped up in Sebastian she had forgotten all about her friend. Then the fight happened. She had yelled at her friend for leaving her behind in the shadows, but maybe she was doing something similar to her. Maybe Mack was leaving Benny behind for Sebastian.
"Aaaaand Anthony went to try to find a gift for Sharon, Loki is drinking his pre show jitters away at the hotel bar and I'm here with you." Scar finishes, turning to Mack and smiling chesily."Ok, then." is all Mack says.
There is a beat of silence before Scar says again...
"So, Queen fan?"
Mack realized she was still holding the album. She quickly put it back and moved a little ways through the store towards the instruments.
"Yes, actully. Big fan." Mack responds.
"You must've lost your shit when you they came to see us perform?" Scar says more of a question than a statement.
Mack turns to look at Scar who had followed her as she walked through the store.
