Hey Peter welcome back Liam said with a smile

while MJ just smiled at him

oh you're here finally geez what took you so long where were you busy having an affair Madeline said annoyed

what Peter said confused

MOM MJ said shouting annoyed

what it's true i saw him with some other girl this afternoon at the library  Madeline said coldly

I wasn't even at the library Peter said confused

mom did you mistake him for another white boy with brown curls or something MJ said annoyed not buying what her mother is saying

wait a minute is she talking about Harry Peter said realizing her mixup

maybe MJ said with a shrug

well i did overhear Gwen went  there with harry at the library earlier so I sort of see the mixup Peter said confused

oh my god my mistake sometimes white boys tend to look the same you know its sort of hard to tell the difference Madeline said realizing her mistake

did you even see his face MJ said confused

honey enough we all know Peter would never do a such thing he loves our daughter too much he wouldn't do that Liam said calmly explaining to his wife putting his hands on her shoulder to calm her down

while Michelle just rolled her eyes annoyed at her mom eating her food in silence

are you seriously wearing that Madeline said looking peter up and down in disgust

um, what's wrong with i-

oh my god Mom stop MJ said annoyed

enough I'm sick and tired of you both arguing and Madeline stop starting them can we just have a nice peaceful dinner without bickering Liam said angrily

ok deal Madeline said annoyed

thanks, dad MJ said with a smile

nonsense peter my wife is just being dramatic again join us you're more than welcome Liam said with a smile

oh um thanks Liam Peter said smiling then sitting down next to Madeline

since it was the only seat he had because the seats were taken so Madeline is who he's stuck with

so Peter right Madeline said with a smile as she was cutting her food

mom MJ said annoyed

what im just trying to be friendly you know I mean when is the last time you ate I mean do even cook Madeline said concerned

um what did i just say Liam said confused

nothing dear im just curious you know I want to know more about the boy since it feels like we don't a whole lot right Madeline said with a cocky smile

or maybe you just don't MJ said annoyed

It's fine guys relax Peter said with a shy smile

yeah he's right you know that's a first Madeline said annoyed

excuse me MJ said offended by her mother's words what she said about peter

you know what about none of you say anything I ask peter the questions not you since you're constantly giving him attitude I may be an idiot constantly going by you're side but you have crossed the line hurting our daughter and jeopardizing who she should be with Liam said angrily annoyed with his wife

im done doing that im done with everything Liam said annoyed 

you know what im sick and tired of you constantly taking her side over mine i know what's best for my daughter and she's young she doesn't know what love is she's just confused Madeline said angrily

MJ quickly left the table  and took Peter's hand along with her going upstairs

who didn't fight on it and went with it

since he knew she was struggling she needed someone right now he understood that

she couldnt take it she couldnt stand being around her and listening to her insults and judgments

MJ went to her bed just to start crying there on her pillows

when she heard her parents shouting from all the way  downstairs 

she just has met the right person yet plus im not comfortable with her being all romantic with a white man her Mom said angrily

because I put her in this world and gave birth to her so that she can date a white guy knowing the years our ancestors suffered from people like him and we have suffered from it  Her mom said angrily

are you kidding me what about how you're daughter feels becuase of you she constantly feels like shit and trash becuase of you I mean  why do you think our  daughter opens up to the boy and goes to him over us because he was the kind that made her feel she was loved and accepted but we failed as parents to do so im trying to be better you and other hand cant Liam said shouting

all peter could do when he heard the conversation was that he hugged her

she leaned in sobbing in his arms as he felt shame that she had to go through that

MJ look at me Peter said softly caressing her face and wiping her tears as she did

It's okay Peter said comforting her

it's okay you know to let it out okay Peter said hugging her and getting her closer to him as she smiled from his embrace

suddenly feeling like not crying anymore despite their still being an argument but peter managed to get her focus off it

since he just wants her to be happy he hates seeing her suffer so he would do anything for that pretty smile she had to feel better

wanna listen to some music if you would like of course Peter said softly with a smile

um I don't know sure I guess MJ said confused then getting her earbuds on her right ear peters being the left one

obviously, the song they listened to is the love of my life by harry styles

they felt sort of in love or not really sad but in love you know so they decided to listen to some sappy love songs as her parents were arguing downstairs
