dear diary
i have a sister
her name is adelaide
she now has red marks
all over her arms and wrists
she tries to keep them secreted
with long sleeves and bracelets
but i still notice them
i hear her crying in the bathroom
late at night
i sit up and bear witness to her heartbreak
and pain
i don't think the red marks
are a ramification from andrew's maltreatment
she's crumbling
right in front of me
i can only hope and pray
that she doesn't drown
in her ocean of desolation
