Anna
I've been avoiding Harry all week since our date, whether it's ignoring his texts or making Mae or Niall switch any shifts I have with him. I just need to get my thoughts together and figure out what is happening between us. Plus it's been nice spending more time with Evy. Unfortunately, I can't avoid him forever so I'm reluctantly getting ready for work. Not really putting much effort into what I look like, I throw on some black leggings, a black sports bra, and a blue flannel on top. Sliding my worn-out white sneakers, I quickly make my way out the door to head to work.
I mentally prepare myself to finally see Harry as I take the short walk to Medicine. Finally, I swing the door open, walking into the bar where I see Harry leaning against the counter doing something on his phone. I freeze in my tracks, suddenly feeling completely unprepared for today's interactions with him.
I stand there for a while before he looks up and makes eye contact with me. My breath hitches in the back of my throat, which throws me into a coughing fit. I'm finally able to control my coughing and start walking to the backroom to clock in. I hear footsteps behind me, signaling that Harry is also coming into the backroom. He reaches over me to clock in as well, smirking at me.
"Oh, how nice to finally see you, Anna," Harry says, standing over me, leaning on the wall. This fucker knows what he's doing, but it's not going to work. I will not let him have the power. If he wants to play games, we can play games.
"Fuck off Harry, I'm not in the mood to deal with your snarky comments today," I bark back at him walking to the front of the store to continue setting up. I grab the glasses from the dishwasher and start polishing them to put away.
He doesn't let up, walking behind the bar making sure that our bodies touch. "Apparently you haven't been in the mood to deal with me at all considering you've been ghosting me for the past fucking week!" He throws his arms up in rage.
"Ghosting you?" I question him, taking a step back and crossing my arms over my chest.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what you would call dropping off the fucking face of the Earth and not responding to me."
"Awe, did someone miss me?" I tease him, my question laced with sarcasm.
"Oh fuck off, Anna. Whatever," he storms off, walking down to the basement, continuing to work but still putting as much distance between us as possible.
"Gladly!" I yell after him before he gets too far away, spinning around to continue working up front.
Harry managed to stay away from me for pretty much the entire time we were alone. He stayed downstairs as long as he possibly could, leaving me to prep the entire bar by myself, but I'd rather have to do it alone than deal with him right now. When he was eventually forced to come upstairs, he didn't say a word until Niall finally showed up, and even then he completely ignored my presence.
