Chapter sixteen

The three had left Lana's and arrived at the chateau pope and kie waiting for the three on the front porch

Gracie and John b began to explain things to kie and pope not giving Jj a chance to talk knowing he would blow things way out of proportion

They were both cut off by Jj he had only said a few words but had already made the story so more dramatic complaining how they had to hide behind the wall at that it was shaken so much there were paint flakes in his hair.

"I doubt it's paint I bet it's dandruff," Kiera said looking at Jj still trying to shake the paint flakes out of his hair. Gracie sighed paint chips were flying all over her

"Sorry Gracie," he said laughing knowing what was happening "so it was the guys that shot at us right?" pope asked confused on who the men were

"You got a good look at them right?" pope asked the three needing a good description
"Anything we can use to file a police report?"

"Pope, what did you want us to do fucking interview them?" Gracie snapped at him she really just needed a good smoke the past days had given her so much stress

"well they were strong ," Jj told pope  "that is not going to help us" pope told Jj , "you said anything" Jj fired at him

"actually like the guys at my dad's garage," Jj said sighing "All I know is that these guys are square groupers," Jj said leaning his head on the wall putting his hand in his pocket pulling out his vape taking a hit

Gracie smelled the fruity smell leaning her head on his shoulder Jj pressed the vape against her lips she took a drawl Jj watching the girl in complete awe no matter what she did she looked good doing it

"Square groupers like narco square groupers?" pope asked jj confused about what they looked like "Pablo Escobar square groupers?" John b asked Jj "yeah Pablo ones," Jj said laughing

"Not everything is a kingpin movie,"kie said rolling her eyes at the boys "I agree with kie on this one, " graice said shrugging her shoulders

"What do these ones look like specifically?"pope asked like some kind of detective "you weren't there bro," Jj said starting to raise his voice "I wasn't taking little mental polaroids it was scary okay," he said running his fingers through his hair

"Hey it's okay, " Graice said kissing his cheek as an effort to calm him down which immediately did "but I can tell you that those dudes are fucked up by the way Lana wanted us out so fast," Jj said looking straight at pope

"He's right there not playing games," John b said finally saying something he had barely talked the entire time still looking at the rusty compass in his hand

"What's so important about the compass why do they want it so much?" Kiera asked that was the thought running through everybody's head but she said it out loud

Jj had his arm wrapped around Gracie's side swaying the two left and right as an effort to calm himself down, Gracie grabbed his hand interlocking their fingers a smile spread across both their faces

"It's a piece of shit you couldn't find one person in the world that would buy that, " Pope said stressed "what the fuck pope your a dumbass," Gracie said shocked from what he had said

"sorry I know it's in your family or something," pope said as if it made the situation better "pope stop your just making it worse," Graice said rolling her eyes at his actions pope decided to listen to someone for once, and shut his mouth

"Office " John b suddenly blurted out making everyone turn to him incredibly confused "Dad's office," He said getting up running to the office "he always kept it locked worried someone would steal his research

"And why didn't you tell us this" Gracie questioned him confused john b looked at the girl making a weird face making the girl snicker

they all followed him to the door pulling out a black key staring at the lock it knowing walking in there would hit him hard he inserted the key into the lock the key began turning he placed his hand on the door knob twisted the knob the door opened
